The next election is gonna be fought & won on YouTube. |
|
The M$M are already irrelevant, cable ditto. The power of the press has moved to the people already.
They were right. The revolution will not be televised. It will instead be reported by the people creating it. In fact, reporting it and creating it are the same act.

3. Hurray! If the MSM won't give us the news, we'll get it ourselves. Technology is gonna save us. |

4. You might have a point... |
|
I don't know if YouTube will do it, but I am sure it hasn't been lost on the MSM that a couple of guys can do a two minute video on 'how to roll a joint' and have more 'eyeballs' watching that than any number of cable news programs. I am sure that fact is not lost on the advertisers which include political parties.
I think the media shareholders will figure out where they need to cut next in order to remain profitable....like the idea that you pay someone a bunch of cash to write a shitty blog twice a week called a column when potential newspaper readers have figured out they can read five really interesting blogs for free.
Unless you are looking for garage sales on the weekend, why would you pay money to the NYTimes just to read Judith Miller-type war propaganda? I figure if gubbermint has to get it's message out, it can pay me to read it -- if not, then I'll stick to democracy, my choice and the overriding FACT that it's 'we, the people' that set political agenda...not some asshole publisher.

6. Always read what the world has to say....... |
|
I like to read Der Spiegel, The Guardian, and Le Monde to see how the world sees us, on a daily basis. The BBC, and the Canadian News Broadcasting Corporation do not always provide a jaunticed view of our own MSM, either. :kick:
