Is Obama running?
What do you think? Was he just testing the waters on Meet the Press so he could see his name in the major polls? Could he beat Clinton if he did choose to run? Lets hear it.

1. Probably.
Even if he doesn't win the nomination, he'll likely end up as VP.

3. I don't know that he will run
Edited on Sun Nov-26-06 06:55 PM by benny05
But he's exploring in Iowa, according to what I heard somewhere else...in the DM Register, but I don't have the link handy.

And welcome to the DU! :hi:

5. Or just the right time before he has to make a controversial vote.

6. We don't know yet...
...He's supposed to be saying something soon. I think he's too unsure of himself right now and may wait for later.

7. So much talk about Obama needing more time in the Senate -
that he's inexperienced. No, we don't have a good track record with presidential candidates that have served in the senate, especially senators that have a lengthy voting record, but I think Obama has the "it" factor. He's brilliant, charismatic, honest, handsome, and has a nice young family. If not Pres, definitely VP.

8. If he's interested in the VP slot, he'll run in the primaries . . . n/t
Even if he doesn't win, if he makes a good showing and handles himself well, that will go a long way toward introducing him to the American voters and knocking down the experience argument.

9. My betting money says no
I seriously doubt he will...and as a newly hyped frontrunner so early in the race, he'd be skewered by the MSM...

10. He shouldn't run
I have been back and forward on this actually. What he should do is use these two years that the democrats are in the majority to pass good legislation and he will make a great VP choice.

11. why isn't the question "is Clinton running"
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 12:20 AM by Bombtrack
I know, because the VRWC has established she is beyond a shadow of a functioning brains independent thought.

And considering the fact that Obama is a more inspiring politician than BILL Clinton, I think Obama can beat Bills politically mediocre wife in a primary.

13. Bombtrack.. did you hear General Clark on Big Ed last week?
I was shocked and delighted..

After the General so elequently discussed Iraq in detail, the conversation turned to something like this (it's on Ed's website still):

Eddie: "General, you know I'm going to ask you this.. because my listeners want to know --are you planning to run in '08"?

Clark: "Well Ed, I've never said I'm not running, have I?"

Eddie: "So.. then -- what -- can we expect you to announce in say -- 30 days or so?"

Clark: "We'll be making that decision soon Ed, I'm not sure if it will be within 30 days.. but soon"

Very cool program... Very AWESOME interview --- and HE's RUNNING!!!!
