Al Franken now says we should be leaving Iraq in 4-6 months! |
|
He calls it a phased pullout or something like that...
I listen to him often...My overall assessment of his position on Iraq, is that it has been the same as Hillary Clinton's: it is broken now, we can't leave now, we have to finish the job, we owe it to the Iraqi people...etc.
Today, Monday November 27th, 2006...He said he supports what Hagel said over the weekend, which he described as basically the Levin plan...
Hagel, Warner, Franken...etc. soon there will only be Laura, Bernie, and Hillary supporting Bush on the Iraq occupation.
P.S. Bernie and Laura are from the Bush family, not sure which one of the two is the dog.

that it took a Republican to convince Al of supporting the right Iraq policy.
He should learn to have more confidence in his own party's opinions without waiting to have them validated by the GOP. :eyes:

that pimping for the GOP will get them elected? Kinda doubt it. Even swing voters don't support the GOP agenda on Iraq. What's the benefit in running as a faux GOP candidate when they're considered toxic by voters?

Is ending the occupation of Iraq over the next six months the Republican position on the question?

7. So he said this after Hagel's |
|
statement? Why can't the dems lead instead of waiting for Republican cover to say we should leave? I know some dems have but for the most part they are still waiting for the Baker report or some such thing.

8. Al has been to Iraq several times and has had lengthy conversations |
|
with the troops. I think that his experience there tempers his view of things, like who to go to for advice, etc.
Al has had the cojones to go to Iraq several times to entertain the troops. He is not afraid the way O'Reilly is. He is a brave American and I applaud him.
