In 1973 RoeVWade was decided. 33+ years, later repukes are ONE judge away |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 02:47 PM by LynneSin
One judge away from overturning RoeVWade and sending control of women and their right to choose back to the states where men will put their neo-con attitude before the safety & health of women.
People wonder why I will put up with Joe Lieberman or why I would consider supporting Hillary Clinton IF she gets the nomination.
It's because of that one judge difference between sanity and reverting us back to the dark ages. One judge is all it will take and we could feasibly see your kids, grandkids & great-grandkids not having the right to choice.
Oh, and yes, I supported Bob Casey because I knew he would never be on judiciary committee and felt that RoeVWade was safer with him as a senator than with Rick Santorum

3. This is what pissed me off in 2000 and to a lesser extent 2004 |
|
It was barely mentioned as an issue. Even here on DU some were saying it wasn't the major issue.
We won the midterm election thanks to the women and young people vote, but WHERE THE HELL WERE THEY IN 2000 and 2004?
The next two years are critical, and the Democrats better forget nuance, and go for the juglar, forget compromise, it isn't going to happen with these republicans

Since we have the majority, we can always start impeaching the Repug justices.

...getting rid of the Repug judges is more important than getting rid of Bush. He'll be gone in two years no matter what. Roberts, Scalia, Alito and Thomas will be on the bench forever if we don't remove them.
Besides, Bush can't do anything about Roe v. Wade until a vacancy comes up. The justices, OTOH, can get rid of it now.
Impeach the judges. If there's still time left, *then* go after Bush.

7. If I had to choose - you betcha the judges would be a higher choice |
|
We can undo the legislation that Bush has passed (although we can't bring back the lives we have lost  ), but those judges will wreck horror on our country and be there long after Bush is gone.
BTW, welcome to DU :hi:
