10. But Dubya is not a good candidate for heart attack with his daily regimen
of intense exercise. It can still happen but chances are remote.

12. talk like that doesn't help
for better or worse, these guys still lead our country.

just like it's wrong for ann coulter to wish death on new york times' editors or liberal supreme court justices, it's wrong for DUers to wish death on members of the bush administration.

let's not reduce ourselves to that level.

14. I am with you...I was trying to dispell any hopes of the prez having
a sudden heart attack, so that the wishful thinking
will subside.

22. Does the president gets to appoint VP all by himself or does he need
approval of senate majority?

21. Only if it happens after January. January third, I think it is.
That's when they officially hang out the "Under New Management!" sign on the front door of the House of Reps. For a few more weeks, we're still stuck with hastert.

5. it would give the GOP the chance to promote condi

giving her credibility as a 2008 presidential candidate -- conservative wet dream -- and also to erase the race-baiting in Tennessee and elsewhere that occurred in the mid-term elections.

7. Yes, she has accomplished something
keeping this administration from being held accountable for 9/11!
She seems to be good to have around when you need a lid kept on things.

8. agreed
but you're making a logical argument.

promoting condi would be for political gain.

the two ideas don't often cross paths.

11. Yes, promoting Condi to VP would be a master stroke for the GOP
in taking away some of our rock solid African-American block
of votes.

15. I can't imagine Cheney going voluntarily and he knows where a lot
of the bodies are buried. * would have to offer one hell of a golden parachute for Cheney's silent compliance, and I'd still expect Cheney to stab * in the back at the last minute. I don't think the promise of a pardon is enough of a carrot for Cheney, although * might falsely assume it is. I don't think Cheney trusts anyone.

16. What are they going to do, stage an "incident"?
Cheney is hunting in Florida. If Bush had half the brains of Hitler, and he wanted to get rid of Cheney, there would be breaking news of a hunting accident in which Cheney shot himself in the head. The MSM would not pursue the story other than repeating the official White House press releases. The chattering class would drone on as to how safe hunting is provided one follows safety procedures, which Cheney obviously failed to follow. Progressives would be so overjoyed at Cheney's death, that we wouldn't care that Bush had him liquidated.

20. nothing that gruesome
simply that for undisclosed health reasons, he's stepping down. condi steps in, and that becomes the story (first black, first woman as vp -- big tent for the GOP, condi a frontrunner for 2008?)

really, when DUers talk about the death of Bush or Cheney, you're just begging the wingers to use it to condemn all liberals. it's wrong. we don't accept it when it comes from ann coulter. we shouldn't stoop to her level.
