When the Bush Administration starts calling it a Civil War, what quotes or promises come due?
I mean which quotes do the White House have to worry about?

What has been said along the lines of 'We will stay in Iraq, but if Civil War breaks out, we are gone' or 'the Iraq War Resolution doesn't cover a Civil War'?

Anything?

Also, what practical implications as a matter of policy, military planning, tactics used, etc can we expect to see as the Civil War reality soaks in at the Pentagon and the WH?

1. What matters is that SENATE says its Civil War, then a new IWR needs a vote
Edited on Tue Nov-28-06 04:18 PM by blm
that covers the new mission to involve the military in a civil war of another country.

This is what Kerry-Feingold was all about. Murtha in the congress and Kerry and Feingold in the senate submitted withdrawal plans dealing with the REALITY that Iraq was in civil war last spring. It was a serious mistake for the greater number of Democrats to withhold that truth from the American people in their efforts to avoid confrontation with Bush over this.

Now that corpmedia can no longer deny it because of the increased chaos there, the looktheotherwaytillBakerpanelreports Dems will likely have no choice but to vote again on a new IWR that has to cover a mission that includes civil war interference.

2. The Bushco will never admit civil war.
That would be admitting responsibility for it! And admitting they were wrong in the first place.

3. Don't know, but the rest of us can - and SHOULD.
Today, NBC. Tomorrow, CBS and ABC too? Hopefully.

Here's my take on it...

for your consideration.

4. Republican John Warner just called it a civil war. Reality is soaking in
“Stay the course is gone.

We’re going to try and devise some new strategies, hopefully with the President’s concurrence…Our soldiers, sailors and airmen should not be in there, risking their lives, losing their lives to stop a Civil War.” — Sen. John Warner (R-VA), once one of staunchest supporters of the administration’s Iraq policy, speaking today in Charlottsville, Virginia.

First thing I notice is it appears Warner is throwing Bush overboard with that "hopefully with the President's concurrence" statement.

5. Stop talking about 1/21/2009 ...
because that's when the Bush administration will start to say about what a horrible mess Iraq is ...
