2. I don't understand his motivation. |
|
He doesn't strike me as particularly intelligent or charismatic. I have to wonder what kind of polling or finger-to-the-pulse information gathering he's done to make him think he has a chance.

Conventional Wisdom says that he has at least a #2 locked up in that primary.

7. All governors think they "have a chance." Goes with the territory. And history is on their side. |
|
Four of the last five presidents were governors - Bush II, Clinton, (Bush I), Reagan, Carter. And two of the four (Clinton and Carter) were governors of relatively small states. I can see why a governor from Iowa might think he would have a chance.

11. He is a front guy for Hillary, IMO. |
|
He is going to drop out at some point and encourage his supporters and Iowa ian's to support Hillary. Being Gov of Iowa and popular their he has some influence. Not my cup of tea if he is serious though, he represents the DLC and I think we need to marginalize this group within our party or we are going end up leaving the people of this great country behind and take up with corporate America- just like the Republicans.

4. I'd rather not see anyone "lick" Vilsack. Nor do I want to see Tom Delay licking anyone. |

9. Anyone hear his speech? |
|
I know very little about Vilsack. I thought it was interesting, though, that he spoke of isolating our enemies (the opposite of what Clark said earlier this morning), and then said he's in favor of an immediate pull-out from Iraq (something no potential dem contender has said thus far, to my knowledge). From what I'm hearing, he's pretty moderate to conservative, so I wonder if I misheard him. Did anyone else hear that?

12. Don't think he said anything about immediate pull-out |
|
Just spoke in general terms about pulling out.

18. You mean too late like Bush 43 |
|
Bush Senior: "Son, you're making the same mistake in Iraq that I made with your mother. I didn't pull out in time..."

14. Hmmm - no one here seems to think Vilsack has much of a chance |
|
But I haven't seen anyone say he shouldn't run.
Interesting.

16. He shouldn't run....he's gonna take up space on the debate |
|
Platform; he'll be asked all of the questions on national security, and Clark will be stuck with the questions on ethanol! :(
He's just just so that Iowa won't count.
Just kiddin'about he shouldn't run....as I can't care who runs cause I have very little control over those decisions; unfortunately, the media does though.
