Poll question: What is the chance Al Gore will run for president in '08?
Edited on Fri Dec-01-06 08:59 PM by Heaven and Earth
This is the million dollar question. Gore is overwhelmingly popular on the internet (at least), but if he doesn't run, the Democratic field becomes almost as wide open as the Republican side. Round up or down accordingly if you want a percentage in between.

9. My pleasure.
There have already been too many distortions about Al Gore. Thanks for your accurate assessment.

2. Wouldn't 100% mean he'd already declared?
I know people like him, hell so do I, but voting 100% is just wishful thinking.

4. Anything above...
...60%, if not 50% is wishful thinking. Seeing as how everytime he's asked he says no. In the recent GQ magazine, he quoted as saying "No." The man is content with what he's doing...it seems like he doesn't want to enter the Washington scene anymore...like he's become disenfranchised with it. I don't blame him either, it seems Washington is never ready to lift a finger for the most important issues...only the ones that they can split party lines or get money from.

I say a 40% chance he enters late in the campaign race.

11. I think he knows better than to enter late.
If he does, it will be well before Iowa.

I said 60%, just because nobody else did.

3. I say around 80%
There will be a lot of pressure from a lot of Democrats for him to run in '08, especially with the success of his recent movie. I believe he probably has the best chance to win of the often mentioned prospective candidates.

7. Hard to say
If he decides to run at ANY time, even on the last day that declaration of intent is possible, he'll win without much campaigning.

12. What is the chance his message and warning on the climate crisis will actually be heeded?
I really would like to see that poll, because it's been pretty much ignored by the beltway for the last thirty years. I sure hope the American people give a better percentage on that by taking action themselves and calling upon their representatives to take action now. Frankly, that would do more for our planet now than these polls do. No offense, just my honest opinion.
