Evaluation of CNN's Obama/Osama Segment

My view is it can only help Obama. It's not going to tie him to Osama or Hussein. It's the voters who would inevitably make that link on their own. By bringing the issue to the fore and pointing out the distinction, they're doing Obama a good deed. If you were to ask Obama how he feels about this particular segment, I would bet money he'd accept it as necessary in order to make the distinction for unaware voters/viewers.

We have to remember that voters/viewers don't see things the way we do. It may frustrate us to see a segment like this, but for most voters/viewers it's new information - news - that makes an important distinction in the names and does so very early in the election process.

3. This isn't propaganda like with Iraq/9-11...
It's not saying "Obama = Osama." It's saying (at least to the average American who would otherwise link Obama with Osama on their own) "people are confusing the two names, but make there's a distinction.
