Does Romney have any advantages in the Iowa primary ? |
|
I ask because he obviously has a Religious advantage in Nevada (one of the biggest Mormon populations I believe) and a geographic one in New Hampshire.

1. I wouldnt say new hampshire is a geographical advantage. |

The folks in NH are pretty intelligent and both states share TV and papers. His reputation is WORSE in my opinioon, due to Proximity. I doubt there are many in NH who believe he actually cared about Mass or wanted to be our Governer. It was very very clear that he was only using this as a stepping stone to a national race.
Yes NH is slightly more conservative then Mass but that doesn't mean they can't smell a rat. Also southern NH is home to many Massachusetts natives who cross the border ever day to come to work. NH is cheaper and prettier then most of the Northshore suburbs.

3. I'm talking about Republican primary voters, not a general electorate |
|
I don't think he has anything bordering on a lock or anything I'm just saying that it's a fair potential. NH republicans who watched Romney beat Shannon O'Brien were already programmed in that race to see Shannon O'Brien as Hillary Clinton.
Also I don't think it's unreasonable to see part of the reason that Kerry and Dean came in 1st and 2nd in New Hampshire being the fact that their states bordered NH, just as Edwards winning in SC had alot to do with his roots in SC and his life in the bordering state.

Romney would be a horrible candidate. His mormonism would be a liability as well.

4. Those who have that opinion |

ARE RIGHT, but should keep it to themselves.
I think our best strategy with Romney is to criticize him for his comments about belief in God being a requirement for President. It's both something he should be criticized for (the non-religious and non-theists and those who have respect for them are too damn silent) and something that will rally the Christian assholes to Romney.

5. Keep it to ourselves until he locks up nomination! |

You are correct. But I have to say I don't fear "President Romney." That won't happen. He's got zero folk charm and is an ideological basket case.
