Another Right Wing Blogger gets caught in a lie!
IS THE KERRY PIC LEGIT?.... Several of the right's major blogs were all aflutter yesterday over a picture of John Kerry, in Iraq a couple of weeks ago, apparently sitting alone at a mess hall. The picture, as the story went, proves that Kerry's "botched joke" has caused lingering resentment among men and women in uniform. If the troops respected Kerry, he wouldn't have been sitting by himself at the breakfast shown in the photo.

The picture, and the accompanying narrative about how the troops avoided Kerry, made the rounds by way of far-right radio-host Scott Hennen, who claims the "priceless story" was sent by "a friend of mine serving in Iraq." (If Hennen's name sounds familiar, it's because he has an interesting history with the White House.)

The problem, however, is that the "priceless story" may not be true. Justin Rood explains.

1. A right-wing blogger lies?
Next you're going to tell me there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq! :sarcasm:

2. That's the problem with the BIG LIE machine
It's not as effective as it used to be because all that stuff gets debunked on line so quickly.

There are always a few people who are corrupt, stupid, lazy, or delusional and they'll believe it. They already believe all sorts of lies, though, so it's no great loss.

when they were exposed.

6. Reminds me of the photo & article they created of Cindy Sheehan a while back..
Anyone remember that?

They took a photo of her at a book signing and she was sitting there with no one around. The caption said something about no one turning up to sign her book, and it was passed ALL OVER THE NET.

One of the news stations eventually reported that a mischievous blogger had photo-shopped the picture and took out the long lines of people at Sheehan's event.

Unbelievable..

11. Yes, they have a thing for Kerry.
http://www.consortiumnews.com/Print/2006/122706.html

It's a long article, worth reading the whole thing, but if you're in a hurry, just read the first few paragraphs and then do a "find" on "Kerry".

Iran/Contra, BCCI, his book The New War...it all ties together. The BFEE don't need to just keep Kerry from being president, they need to destroy his credibility completely.

15. The RW lie machine gets coverage that no truth manages to get from corpmedia.
Hard to believe its just coincidence when RW lies get SO MUCH coverage and the counters and defenses are barely aired at all.

13. If you google images of John Kerry (45+ pages of hits)...
you would find that he wears only white or blue shirts. But then, I quit
looking after 30 pages, so I could be wrong.

Nah.

18. You may be right with pictures where he is in a suit
but he wore a lot of different shirts with subtle patterns during the 2004 campaign. I think white and light blue are, by far, the most common color shirts worn with suits.

20. Not just the interpretation, but the representation.
The article states that the photo was taken months before Kerry was in Iraq.

Kerry's office has confirmed that the photo was taken recently in Iraq.
