1. Was he supposed to get another trial. |
|
If so, he did a lot better than most Iraqis during and after his reign of terror.

3. He was apparently in the middle of another trial |

over what he did to the Kurds. I guess that since he did it with weapons we supplied him, the Powers That Be did not want to go there.

6. Well that certainly explains a lot of the previous threads and posts. |
|
I did not know that. Of course it makes sense that this country would want him dead. I think we need to keep the light shining on his activities, especially those we financed, let's hope the truth eventually comes out.

2. Too much incriminating evidence against the Bushies. |
|
I was listening to a little bit of NPR today, and it sounds like the Kurds are really pissed that they will never get closure or justice on this. The Shiites are pissed because they fear it will set off another round of sectarian attacks.
The only one who's happy is the idiot Chimp. He gets to celebrate killing Saddam AND killing his 3000th soldier.

Saddam is DEAD, so why are we still staying in Iraq?!?
This is stupid. Our main goal in Iraq in the first place was to replace Saddam and topple his government. We've done that, and they've set up their own new government.
And NOW that a man was hung, that man Saddam, we are STILL going to stay there?
Let the history books remember this day. The day when all the lies of the Bush Administration came to a head, and all the 'bitching' that the Democrats have done from the beginning...we were right all along. This wasn't about Saddam, 9/11, WMDs, etc.
This was a war of choice, and ignorance. And the fact we are there after Saddam is dead just proves it!
Check the last excuse off the excuse list, the RW has none left.

Isn't he the one who attacked us? or IS he? was it really Saddam, after all? (sarcasm intended) wb
(ps: I thought the Kurds were killed with a type of poison gas that only Iran had?)

8. The second trial is still going on! |
|
At his death, he was in the midst of a second trial, charged with genocide and other crimes for a 1987-88 military crackdown that killed an estimated 180,000 Kurds in northern Iraq. Experts said the trial of his co-defendants was likely to continue despite his execution. From: http://news.aol.com/topnews/articles/_a/iraqi-government-executes-former/20061229140609990001

- even if he had been found innocent of the second charges it would not change the death penalty sentence from the first charges and trial.

15. from what i have read, before gulf war info came out it was iran |
|
that had sent the gas into that town killing the kurds. both sides were using it. the gas found was gas iran was using. that town the villagers came and went depending on the war. iran thought there were soldiers there and didnt know population had returned. then gulf war came along and this was all dropped and given to saddam to be the extra bad guy. i am curious for the info to come out yea or nay. yet the trial will not happen. regardless who it is, i like for history to be accurate not made up out of propaganda for reasons to benefit us. want to know, was it iraq or iran.
