Overflow Crowd Greets Edwards' Tour (New Hampshire)
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061230/D8MASB4O0.html

It was a crowd to warm any candidate's heart - even in a New Hampshire winter. Over a year ahead of the nation's first presidential primary, so many voters turned out Friday to hear Democratic hopeful John Edwards' call for a new spirit of American activism on problems ranging from poverty to global warming that hundreds were left standing outside in freezing temperatures.

Nearly a quarter of the crowd of more than 800 were unable to squeeze into the elementary school cafeteria where Edwards was to speak.

The former North Carolina senator and 2004 vice presidential nominee ended up giving his introductory remarks outside, using a microphone that broadcast his voice inside, before heading indoors.

"What we're asking is for you, the people of New Hampshire, not to wait for the next election to take responsibility," he said. "Identifying a problem and talking about hope is talking about tomorrow. We can't wait until tomorrow."

2. After the events of today, I am firmly behind John Edwards.
Someone speaking of compassion and hope is so refreshing after 6 years of hearing nothing but vengence and fear.

3. a client and I were discussing politics today...
"What do you think? I LIKE the colors! (as I trimmed out her master bedroom)

I told her I wouldn't be working on her house tomorrow because I was meeting my buds for Poli-talk and and beer.

"left or right?" she asks...

"Moderate to far left" I said.

"Good! My sister says Edwards announced yesterday..."

"He did. It's so far before the elections though.... Politics have sure changed lately..."

"That's for sure!"

"I think maybe he announced so early because it gives him a platform to discuss Poverty without 10 other candidates sucking up the Media time. He's been running the Southern Poverty Law Center since the elections ya know..."

"Really? I didn't know that..."

I LOVE my job! :)

4. This is exactly why I support Edwards
He talks about poverty, and that's something you rarely hear from other candidates.

5. And he didn't just start talking about it, either
Plus he talks about health care and global warming and trade and he connects them all together in a way GWB can't even understand much less talk about. And plus he knows how to talk to people. He could make a huge difference in America.
