2. Speaker Pelosi probably knows how people feel |
|
She is probably facing the fact that Cheney will have to go first. And if it is feasable. They must conduct investigations to uncover the evidence and to put public opinion behind impeachment. If she goes off the deep end and they just impeach you can kiss a democratic congress goodbye in 2 years. She is in a tough position. We must give her the trust she will do what is right at the right time.

We should be focused on our long term goals. We don't know yet that impeachment will help with that.

3. Explain to me how they CAN impeach bush and cheney |
|
I think the investigations are the best bet. Then if they get enough outrage the people in the republicans districts will demand they go along with an impeachment. If they start out right out the gate with an impeachment, they won't have the votes. The senate votes on impeachment after the house lays the ground work. Now there are 49 democrats and 49 republicans and 2 independents, and one of those independents is Liberman...so what do you think.

The House within the last ten years impeached the president on less grounds in the end than what we all already know today. So it can be done.
How'd that happen? Well, enough people got all up in arms over the deal. They talked about it, wrote letters and in general, kept at it till the deal was done. Fine example, that.

5. people need to remember |

that removal from office won't happen. Its not a simple majority vote in the Senate. That's a lot of political capital to use for no result.

10. investigations are good |

I hope we have strong oversight. I am sure we will. If it leads to impeachment and removal, that's great. More likely, it will create a better political environment for all Democrats and bring us some needed sunlight.
