Pelosi Statement on the Deaths of 3,000 American Soldiers in Iraq
http://democraticleader.house.gov

Washington D.C.:Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the death toll for United States soldiers in Iraq has reached 3,000:

The deaths of 3,000 U.S. soldiers in Iraq is a sad reminder of the consequences of the Administrations failed policy. With December being the deadliest month of the year for our troops in Iraq, it has never been more clear that the situation there continues to erode.

As we begin the new year, we urgently need an effective strategy that will bring peace to the region and allow the responsible redeployment of U.S. forces.

11. thanks for your "concern"
I am sure Pelosi will deal with this in a manner far more fairly than the previous Speaker dealt with the ethics problems faced by members of his party...

16. How many decades past should we revisit?
:eyes:

NOTHING you prefer to harp on, going back five decades or two centuries, comes close to the criminality of this administration.

But, would you like a cracker anyway, Polly?

13. I'm sorry this just doesn't do anything for me
I mean, of course she's better than Hastert, but this statement seems ambiguous at best. I was hoping for stronger opposition, especially on this sad day. Besides, why is impeachment "off the table"? I believe that impeachment is too good for this war criminal...

15. I agree - is this the best our Speaker-elect can do?
3,000 soldiers. I'd say that warrants more than just a few short sentences.
