Impeachment - Go after Cheney
Investigations are the first priority but I think they will link Cheney to just about anything they look into; torture, energy policy, Iraq, etc. Also it would keep him and his staff busy and it would remove his influence over the Bush administration's policies. Cheney's popularity numbers make him an easier target. What would the GOP do if Cheney has to resign? Who would they put in his place? This person would most likely run for president in 2008. The GOP then couldn't run an "outsider" in 2008, "calling for change". A 2008 GOP candidate linked to Bush would help the Democratic party in 2008.

Any thoughts on going after Cheney?

is it is a brilliant idea, I have been saying the same thing for YEARS!

hell, we can impeach Bush, Cheney, judges, etc... Why stop at one when they are all criminally culpable.

5. Oh, come ON!!! Please! Is there no courage???
Is there no one willing to get out there and just DO IT, consequences be damned? Do it (impeach) because it's the right thing to do?

Bush would NOT "appoint McCain"! I am not attacking you personally, but really, I just have to say that that idea is about as possible as... as is the idea that Bush might finally grow a brain!

Yes, we have seen those photos of McCain sucking up to Bush, big-time. (We're saving them for when McCain runs!) But while McCain may have done that, he has only done it because it was politically expedient at the time. Do you seriously think McCain has ever had a single moment of real SINCERITY??

Bush fought McCain tooth and nail in the 1999-2000 primaries. He and Rove did everything but throw SHIT on the man. Bush has no love for McCain, and I truly believe Bush doesn't give a hot damn whether McCain ever becomes president or not. I have a strong feeling that Bush is looking forward more every day to the day when he can go back to "Rancho Borracho" and return to his usual status of being an idle rich asshole whose entire income is PASSIVE income.

4. Some things to consider
Remember if Cheney is impeached and removed from office, Bush doesn't get a free pick for his new VP -- any person he chooses must be approved by both houses of Congress, which will be in Democratic hands.

Someone smarter than I (my memory says it was John Dean, but if I'm wrong, my apologies) advised impeaching Cheney first, then holding up Congressional approval of any VP nomination while impeaching and removing the rest of the administration, culminating in Bush at the end. Bush wouldn't dare resign in the meantime since that would automatically put Pelosi in the Oval Office.

Fascinating stuff in their journals though they are long reads.Worth the time spent however.

Here's a little teaser: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1357615/000119312506236315/ds1a.htm#rom71894_2

10. I think the idea has serious appeal and I have no doubt that
Dead Eye will continue to give us ample grounds to impeach him.
