Now comes the sales-pitch phase!
Our slimy used-car salesman in chief will now run around the country "selling" this horrendous policy. Commentators on MSNBC last night said that he doesn't get a "bump" from his televised speeches, but once he gets on the campaign trail he really "connects" with people. (The people who pass their screening, that is.)

This is like "selling" an old Pinto on cinder blocks. What line of BS do they think will work? Based on last night's speech, plenty of "Al Qaeda, September 11th, terrorists" and smoke and mirrors about why THIS is going to be DIFFERENT. Oh, and photo ops with military uniforms, even though they're more interested in their political asses than the people wearing those uniforms.

He's no longer pounding his fist and chanting about victory and defeat; gone is the campaign cry of "as long as I'm president, we won't leave until the job is done!" Now it's, "Well, we can't afford to fail, and maybe this will work." Rah rah.

And of course, gotta bash the Democrats. "Opponents want to" - followed by something totally false; and "If anybody has a better plan" - ignoring the fact that he's ignored Democrats' proposals for years and continues to do so. If anybody yelled with a megaphone up to his ear, if it didn't suit him politically, he'd say, "I don't hear anything. If anybody has something to say, I'll listen."

What else will he try to use in this year's sales pitch?
