How about that Chuck Hagel? |
|
What did he call bushes plan? "A collosal blunder"? Wow! It looks like the increases in troop strength may not pass. Many prominent repubs are opposed.

In addition to Hagel, at least two other Repub Senators have come out in opposition: Gordon Smith and Sam Brownback. There may be some others, but for sure if this debacle continues through the year, Bush will face a revolt in his own party.

3. I think he realizes he has no chance at the GOP nomination, so he's letting it hang loose |
|
I believe he's retiring from politics at the end of his current term. He seems like a good man to me.

5. On that point, he sounded as good as any DEM. |
|
Really appreciated how he grilled Rice on that "it's not escalation - it's augmentation" BS! I've even heard a few rumors that there is a chance he will flip parties - nothing official.
Though how wonderful would it be to make puke Loserman 100% irrelevant!

....tonight on charlie 'twolip' rose and was pleasantly surprized by old Hagel....too little too late of course, but pleasantly surprized nevertheless....
....I believe it was Zbigniew Brzezinski who said last night on the News Hour that historial context matters; that in Iraq, we're basicly conducting a colonial action in a post-colonial world....
....bullys are never popular....now that we're rapidly becoming killers in the new Fourth Reich, many of us are starting to reflect on what it means to be an American....
....funny, how we won't tolerate killers within our society yet many of us still tolerate being a 'killer' society....nice to see Chuck has changed his mind....
Are we still Iraq? Why? Out of Iraq Now!!
