Hillary said something controversial about the Iraqi prime minister
according to MSNBC just now. Details coming up right after commercial break (which could be 30 seconds or a half hour from now. Who knows?)

1. Update: I guess she expressed doubts in the ability of the Iraqi government
that's in place right now, and her statements have Republicans all in a tizzy.

2. I believe this War is going to be her focus
for the duration of her campaign after she announces.
No doubt about it, it's the single most important issue of the American people.

Besides, the threat posed by Global Warming, of course...

I'm sure she and Bill have discussed at length, a plan
to remedy the Iraqi invasion.

If anyone can find a viable solution to get our troops home, it's Bill & Hillary!

Godspeed to you!

3. She said this yesterday
"I'm skeptical that the Iraqi government will do what they have promised to do, and that I think is the concern of all of us who have heard this before," she said. "All the promises, and intentions in the world don't substitute for action and we haven't seen a lot of action."

Well said, Hillary.

8. Well said? Seems vague and weak to me
It would be controversial if she pointed out that the Shite militias are actually part of the Shite Iraqi gov't now. They have deeply infiltrated the intelligence and police forces and use the govt equipment in conducted their raids and death squads. She could mention that all of this was well known and documented before the Bombing of the Golden Dome which is the official trigger according the Bush Administration but is clearly an escalation of an existing problem.

Obviously the Shite Iraqi gov't is incapable of carrying out the plan. It involves policing themselves. They have no interest in stopping anyone other than Sunnis when the plan calls on them to stop their own militias.

The entire plan after the war was a gamble, hoping that the newly unoppressed Shias would just turn the other cheek concerning their previous oppressors. To them it's payback time and we can't change that.

Hoping for "A lot of action" implies that the existing plan is ok but just needs to actually work, not that the entire thing is a farce and we need to cut our losses.

She just triangulates and once a clear position of popular opinion is already established she then voices it. Hardly anything to get excited about.

4. No reports published yet on Hillary's trip to Iraq..
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 09:10 AM by Tellurian
She has plenty to say, but news venues are suppressing her analysis on Iraq..

All I've heard is a brief from her nbc Matt Lauer interview'

She had better put out press releases FAST!

Read where Tweety floating the idea she's waiting because O Bama presidential bid will overshadow
her report..

Believe me, the families and friends with relatives fighting in Iraq are waiting for this report with baited breath.

The limited nbc video I watched this am...I wish I could post it (don't know how it's done yet)
Is imperative for release. Hillary's report candidly has nothing positive to say about Iraq or Bush's plan for escalation; saying, the Iraq government is trying "to wait us out"...and the removal of troops from Afghanistan (sending them into Iraq) is a big mistake! Sending Astan troops into Iraq leaves an opening for the return of al Quaida in the spring..

I imagine, the suppression of her unfavorable report reflecting poorly on Bush's recent decision for a surge has been shelved because it might upset people who are the thinking public..

Hillary needs to break through and get her message out to the world.

7. I've looked all over this morning..and theres nothing..
except for an obscure video link on msnbc..

We need text.. from somewhere (press release) to get the word out..
And also, she needs to take control of interviews. Lauer (because of time constraints?)
steamrolled her, changing her most important message, to the question of her announcing..

that really got me..

I would have preferred her saying...
Matt, this report is more important than anything else I have to say at this time.
