Biden and Dodd want Confederate flag off grounds
Speaking at a rally sponsored by the NAACP the two spoke out against the confederate battle flag that is still raised at the South Carolina Statehouse.

AP: COLUMBIA, S.C. - Sen. Joseph Biden (news, bio, voting record), a Democratic presidential hopeful joining fellow Sen. Christopher Dodd (news, bio, voting record) at Martin Luther King Jr. holiday events, said Monday he thinks the Confederate flag should be kept off South Carolina's Statehouse grounds.

"If I were a state legislator, I'd vote for it to move off the grounds — out of the state," the Delaware senator said before the civil rights group held a march and rally at the Statehouse here to support its boycott of the state.

Biden expects legislators here will eventually move the flag. Pointing to his heart, he said, "as people become more and more aware of what it means to African-Americans here, this is only a matter of time."

On Sunday, Dodd told The Associated Press at a King remembrance service in Greenville that the Confederate flag belongs in a museum.

"I don't think it belongs on the Capitol grounds," Dodd said.

5. If people from up North would stop bitching about it and let the folks
in South Carolina handle it, it would have been gone years ago.

Because THEY try to natter about it so much, it's become much more of an issue than it would have been.

Haven't Biden and Dodd learned anything about Southerners, yet? If you want us to do something, don't look down your nose at us and tell us to do it. It won't work.

It may be an outdated (and to some, racist) display, but it will never come down because someone from up North says so. It has to come from the people of South Carolina.

I'm sorry if this offends, but it's the truth.
