Anyone else think a certain VP will be coming down with some
kind of life-threatening illness in the next few weeks? On doctors orders, he will not be allowed to say a single word and perhaps not even leave his undisclosed location for fear that something may contradict his well being. Lets say, perhaps something like a little testimony, maybe even under oath.

4. Or, maybe he'll decide
he just "had better things to do".

Oops, I'm sorry, that was the excuse he used to get out of the Vietnam War.

It's becoming more and more obvious that our country is being run by a bunch of spoiled little children!:dunce: :dunce:

8. He's testifying via videotape
The only way to get out of it is to ignore the subpoena, which I'm thinking would not make Judge Walton especially happy.

One of the Ladies of the Lake (www.firedoglake.com,) ferreted out that Cheney would not be appearing in the courthouse two weeks ago based on responses to the judge by Patrick Fitzgerald's team. In that document, the judge's question about special arrangements for security were answered with "none". Security would have to be coordinated with the US Marshals, the Secret Service, and whatever other government agency would be responsible. Looseheadprop, former prosecutor and current law professor, mentioned the logistical nightmare that would be Cheney on the witness stand, and subsequently said he would not be appearing at the courthouse.

10. Why not make him appear in person at his underground location?
He,he that rhymes...well sorta. Would make a good bumper sticker.
At least it would stick it to him.

11. If this is the case, does it mean that he will not be cross-
examined? Can there be a back-and-forth between the vp and his interrogators? How will questions be asked in order to verify what he is saying? I understand there may be a logistic problem but for the better good, can't the government law enforcement officials see it it that he is properly guarded? Logistics be darned, he needs to face the music, not present a tape of his side of things. I guess I don't get it. WE can coordinate the logistics in order to go to war but we cannot coordinate live testimony from the VP, something is out of whack there.

12. It's my impression that the tape is actually a video feed
with back and forth capability. The questioning will continue till both sides have their chance. It's probably taped and shown in court later just because of the chance of having the video feed malfunction in live court proceedings.

>Logistics be darned, he needs to face the music, not present a tape of his side of things.<

This is IMHO, but let's face it. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that place when Crashcart makes an appearance. I believe it would be unsafe for others to be there as well. Again, IMHO, YMMV. The security would be so unbelievable that it would make a circus of the proceedings. The judge was the one that made the final decision on this; I think he's actually done the right thing.
