Will Bush get a "bump" in the polls after the speech. If so, how much, and at this late date, |

16. Mr. Dependable has taken a bump downward |
|
after EVERY speech! We can depend on that as well as he can depend upon Depends...which he will really be needing. Roll over Laura...he's untouchable! Yes, bush* is our untouchable president! Not only that, no one doesn't even want to be near him and breath the same air he breaths. He'd poison/kill a Canary if he got near one.

the only "bump" he'll get will be in his pants when he tells us of the 21,000 troops he's sending into the meat grinder known as Iraq.

9. I'll guess a negative bump, as he's not going to do well.... |
|
He's getting pressure from all sides, plus the Dems are coming out of the woodwork to criticize him...Carter, Mondale et al., so even though he is one of the most arrogant individuals I've ever known, he'll lose it and screw this SOTU up, big time. Can he "karaoke" this speech? He's been singing a tune for the last 6 years, why stop now?

1 point for a couple of minutes after the blatherheads puff him up with "how presidential he sounded"
and then reality will set in as we listen to what he's saying or rather not saying
his speeches remind me of a line from the Sound of Music movie - the scene where Maria is first teaching the children to sing
she teaches them notes - do re mi etc. -- the children look at her puzzled, and the youngest, marta says "but it doesn't mean anything"
this is what the majority of America will be thinking after the SOTU "HUH? But it doesn't mean anything!"
sadly or not - bush will not be breaking out in a hummable sing-a-long karoke version of his speech

There is nothing he can do at this point to recover any semblence of support. He may even lose some more.

|
he'll be sweating and slouching and lying and recommending the same disastrous policies that have been in place for 6 years. It's over for him. I hope he starts babbling and has to be helped from the House

15. Taxing worker's health insurance if it's costly |

is not going to gain him points, while simultaneously giving tax breaks to people well off enough to afford private insurance.
