I'm hoping this thing is going to be HUGE> It may be nice to hear where you are coming from as well, if you are so inclined to share. I am coming from the very RED state of South Carolina along with 4 other women.

Yea it snowed earlier, ice pellets are coming down now. I'm watching the cardinals, tufted titmice, juncos, woodpeckers, chickadees, wrens and blue jays at my feeders in the orchard and out by the woods! Beautiful flashes of color against the white backdrop!

oin with us at the national March on Washington to raise the call for an immediate end to the occupation, and for a socially progressive alternative in Iraq — an independent, democratic, secular and non-ethnic/non-sectarian republic.

We will be meeting at the intersection of 3rd St. SW, Maryland Ave. SW and Independence Ave. SW, in front of the National Museum of the American Indian (Metrorail Blue Line to Federal Center SW Stop; exit on 3rd Street SW and go two blocks North).

The mood of the country has changed so much. I also think the netroots is much better organized and more people are getting involved. I could be wrong....but it is just a gut feeling I have. :)

Thanks to Keith (sigh!) and others with integrity and a conscience. I'm really looking forward to this. It's so wonderful to congregate with others who share concerns and are actually willing to get off their duffs and do something! An old friend, noted for her outspokenness, used to say "I don't care if it does any good...if it makes me feel better, it's worth it!".

I think we'll all feel better. And I think we'll do a lot of good as well.

17. Are there any local protests/walks planned?

I never understand why things like this are only located in one city. I get it - I lived in DC, I know it's the capital of the country, I know first-hand the great effect a walk or protest there can have. However, there are thousands of us who would do something if only it didn't include a cross-country plane ticket and hotel room that we can't afford. If events were to occur around the nation, then a larger total number could be reported and a larger, stronger message sent.
