limbaugh to be on All Things Considered this afternoon! |
|
to discuss talk radio. The drug addicted, chickenshit chickenhawk will whine about how evil liberals are wanting to bring back the evil fairness doctrine on a medium he hates.
Amazing how the cancer, which is today's right wing hate radio, began to grow when the fairness doctrine was tossed in the trash by reagan. limbaugh and his kind are attempting to stir their ignorant trash base stating, in essence, if conservatives have to be fair we can't stay in business. Another great bullet in the vast performance report of the "conservative" movement of the 21st century.

2. Let me guess ... Limbaugh's ratings are starting to fall. |
|
O'Reilly looked for a makeover and a boost from Steven Colbert and got it, at least temporarily.
Limbaugh is looking for credibility from NPR. Will he get it? Possibly. It will depend upon how much both NPR and Limbaugh play it up.
Limbaugh's appearance on NPR will do nothing for NPR other than feed the fires of the tiny -- yet very noisy -- group here at DU who believe that NPR is to the right of Fox News.

3. I don't listen to too much NPR |

but I've yet to find evidence of any conservative slant. (However, my sampling has been small.) To have limbaugh on is a valid news story with the possibility of no slant at all. Rather strange that limbaugh would go on a broadcast outlet that he'd like to shrink small enough to drown in a bathtub to get out his warped, ugly, hateful, ignorant point of view. More power to NPR if that happens.

4. To have limpuke on will only serve to move the so called center |

further to the right. This morning they had juan williams, another right winger tho a commentator for npr, on with his essay on MLK. Poor choice for such a segment, but just shows what npr's new agenda is.

What is NPR's new agenda?
(I vomited when they announced Juan Williams doing the "Divide" segment. Williams is a sycophant who, like Zelig, assumes the features of those around him.)

of the DUers who call for the reinstatement of the fairness doctrine, yet throw a tantrum when rush is on NPR.

13. Now that you mention it! |

I'm not the fastest lightbulb in the coal mine but I absorb a lot of info. I think the mike's should be thrown open. I truly love listening to someone with an opposing viewpoint. The blathering about the marketplace and capitalism should not be the breeding ground for lies and disinformation solely to advance political agendas. I do chuckle outloud when I hear fake patriots like limbaugh and hannity whining that the fairness doctrine will put them out of business. In other words, if I have to be fair, I won't be able to make a living. I'm glad the company that recently installed a new heat pump for our home didn't think that way.

6. Well, it's about time! |

I mean, Mr. Limbaugh doesn't have any other chance or opportunity to air his views or reach a wide audience. And his important, original voice, with views and opinions you can't hear anywhere else, will at last get a platform (albeit a very short one) for wider dissemination. One can only hope this is the prelude to giving him a regular slot by NPR.

I'm a strong believer that our public airwaves should be required to represent all sides of an ideology. The Fairness Doctrine was a good thing. Currently AM radio is dominated by right wing talk radio. That needs corrected and balanced. Perhaps there should be a requirement that a radio show, including NPR, always have multiple hosts or guests that can effectively provide opposing views similar to Washington Journal on CSPAN.

I'm about as liberal/progressive as they come, and listen to NPR on my morning and afternoon commutes.
I really don't understand the people that claim that NPR is going conservative. From my perspective, they seem much more interested in facts and in-depth reports as opposed to any particular political ideology. It certainly doesn't hurt when the majority of what they report confirms my own world-view.
I expect that Limp-balls will be asked some pretty pointed questions on his current and past actions.

discover the conservative slant but I don't listen that often. In fact, I've yet to find any slant at all. I do hope that the drug addict gets a "fair" hearing since he has been blathering on about how he is allergic to fairness.
