1. Looks like a National brand key.

A nefarious person could swipe a blank from a hardware or drug store that duplicates keys and make a copy. I do believe it is illegal to do so, however.

2. Aren't these the hotel minibar keys?

This is a very common type of key out there, which is very cheap, and used everywhere from hotel minibars to computer front panel locks. IIRC, there are only four available tumbler combinations for this key type.

Just goes to show the lengths that Diebold will go through in order to protect election integrity. All from a company that makes ATMs, safes, teller equipment and security systems for banks...

3. This is what upsets me...

Other than the fact that Diebold couldn't care less about fair elections, what gets me is how people like this even have jobs, from the executives down to the paid engineers. This is similar to the feeling I have about the airplane designers who lacked the sheer common sense to create secure cockpit doors before 9/11.

There are millions of people more qualified to do jobs like this, yet it is always members of the good ol' boy clubs that get the good jobs, then screw everything up and expect the rest of us to clean up their mess.
