A quick note to Clark supporters |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 11:08 PM by WilliamPitt
I have not heard the man say he is out yet. You Clark supporters should turn off the god damned TV, push back from the computers, take a deep breath, and be very proud of yourselves for your dedication and hope. You're patriots, and the sun will rise tomorrow to reveal what it will reveal. We'll be here for you.
West Wing is on Bravo right now. 'Privateers' is the episode. Have a ball.
:toast:
On edit: Fifty billion threads are popping up saying he is definitely out. You all have my love and admiration for the power and the passion of your work and hope. And the sun will still rise tomorrow.

I agree. Much ado about nothing--at least until he announces. And then I will look at the remaining field and decide whom to support. It isn't the end of the world, of Wes Clark, or of this party.

Very true, William. Everyone needs to take a deep breath.
As of right now, we're still in this thing. I will not give up hope until I hear from General Clark himself. I still support my candidate.

(in case you couldn't tell, I'm a Kucinich supporter, and have worked on a number of "losing" campaigns. It was tough being a Democrat in the 80s :D )
Don't EVER give up-- not until you hear it right from Clark's mouth that he's out. Clark supporters are awesome, and have good reason for supporting their man. This thing STILL ain't over-- especially for those of you in states that haven't voted yet.
Keep the faith until the end!

You rule. I have been watching this, "the sport for people with long attention spans," (a.k.a. politics) for a long time.
Until Clark is officially out, I am in - and 100% with him. Once he is out, so am I. (Although I'll vote for the Democratic nominee, no matter what.)
That said: your note is a balm to the spirit, and moreover offers a time to consider what I (as a Clark supporter) have the good fortune to be a part of. No matter what the 'morrow brings, I am, and will remain, one of Clark's people. He inspires me. I can't say much more.
Whatever happens from here, I will NEVER regret my service, conversations and $$$ given to Wesley Clark as a candidate. In a weird way, I think that says something: years from now, I will be as proud as ever for what I did, and tried to do, for my candidate.
Life is good, and I'm wise enough to know the sun rises again (but your reminder is appreciated). :-)

27. There ain't no sun shining when the Candidate is already chosen and |
|
it's only the beginning of February. It's dark indeed.
But, I have sympathy for all the Clark supporters as I do for the rest of us where there isn't any sun...and your hopes are dashed once again. This stuff going on in the Democratic Party will tear us apart. Maybe not this minute...but it's festering, and it goes deep. No sun....

29. I won't believe it until I hear him say it himself. But no matter what |
|
the General does, I know that being the decent man that he is he will continue to battle to get the Bush* administration out of Washington. He has never backed away from a fight. And being a General, a great general, he knows when to retreat and plan a new offensive in any battle. And this is a battle. This is a battle for our country. Clark will not desert like AWOL did. He will stay with us in some way. He knows how badly we need him. And if it's not as the presidential nominee, he will do the decent, courageous thing and support whoever is. The General is a true American.
