What I think Clark will do and should do! |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 11:35 PM by Quixote1818
I have been one of Clark's biggest supporters and always will be. However to be flat out honest with you my gut feeling is that Clark will drop out tomorrow and endorse Kerry. I think Clark want's to be on the team and he realizes there is no way to beat Kerry now so if you can't beat him you might as well join him. Clark is a smart and sincere guy and he knows if he want's to help serve his country the best way to do that is to get on the winning side and get a key position. Edwards and Dean will fight it out with Kerry for another month meanwhile Kerry can get to know Clark and perhaps end up on the ticket. Clark will flat out tell Kerry. "I want to serve my country and I want that chance in your administration." This is about using Clark's talents not weather Clark should ever be the number two man. I want Clark in the administration to help Kerry make good decisions on all issues. We need Clark. He does the country no good if he retires.

Though he's already said flat out he would not be the VP even if offered, I do hope he'll reconsider and take a spot in the cabinet if offered. As many others have mentioned, he'd make a great Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense!

4. Doesn't every candidate say that? |
|
That he's not running for VP, he's after the top of the ticket.
I think that if offered Clark would accept the VP. Even with the knock about Kerry being a 'lieutenant'.
I was really pulling for Clark, but face it, he has no political experience, and this is not the 50's when a neophyte like Ike can win a nomination. We can thank the Repugs and the media whores for that.

VP would be first choice.
But, I think he would do better running for GOV or Senate seat somewhere(or a congressman).
The only reason I didn't support Clark was that he lacked domestic policy issues and that was more important to me this year.
His candidacy was way too important this year to just go out as a cabinet member for White House.
The Dems need all the "fresh talent" they can find to bolster their representations in congress and state politics.
But, That's just my opinion.

I don't know about you, but, I didn't see a change in Dean's tax plan.
Could you point me to the changes?

I hope Wes Clark goes back to Arkansas, makes his 40 million, plays a bunch of golf, gets the chance to enjoy that grandbaby and maybe several more. He's earned it, and America doesn't deserve him.

We had a chance to have a real leader. We blew it. I've got nothing against Kerry and only hope that all this support turns into real votes come November. I hope he's tough enough to weather the Rove machine and the gazillion dollar war chest that BushCo has.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
