The Total Scoop on John Edwards Voting Record and Issues Statements...HERE! |
|
I can't vouch for the site "On the Issues" but it would seem a good place to start for those of us who want to know about John Edwards actual voting record, issues statements, and ratings by special interest groups. Good site to "Bookmark" for fact checking on all the candidates. http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:nI_CiezSVTwJ:www.ontheissues.org/John_Edwards.htm+John+Edwards+Voting+Record&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a

2. I like that this site gives links to his statements on various issues.. |
|
and there's not much to dislike about his voting record except he's a little hawkish on Iran and his foreign policy while leaning heavily to diplomacy...sometimes seems to wander.
 Anyway, it does answer some questions that many of us might have and need info on when we drift into the "flame wars."
A voting record doesn't tell everything about one's ability to "Govern" though. And, that's the judgement we really need to make when we go into those polls and cast our vote in 2008...no matter which candidate we favor. IMHO...

3. For Old School Democratic values: John Edwards |

Koko - I think the Iran talk is not how it seems to have been taken (which, of course, is Edwards' responsibility), and I expect that we will be hearing much more statemanlike and pacifistic talk in coming days. I'm counting on it/hoping for it.
Still, let's remember who is closest on the spectrum to classic Democratic positions. Edwards.
great link. thanks.

5. I hope Edwards will explain his Iranian Statements ...because |
|
the Anti-Iraq Invasion folks are really angry about what the did. That's one issue and his voting record seems solid ...even if he only was a one termer Senator without any elected office before that.
I'm trying to keep open minded about him...and that's why I checked out his voting record and grades from the Special Interests.
He's definitely worth a Candidacy. I'm holding out because of my experience with him on Iraq Resolution and his latest alignment with the Likud in Israel. (was Edwards looking for money or pandering).
Otherwise his voting record lines up with what I would hope to see in a candidate....and we should all check out that site and look at his record. He looks pretty good there.

8. I'm with you on the Likud thing, and hoping that he will clarify |
|
soon.
I just don't believe that he - he who sincerely, deeply, and profoundly regrets his role in the IWR fiasco - would go down that path again. I don't believe it, and await clarification.

9. Do you work for Edwards' campaign? |
|
I'll let you know that Edwards' talk on Iran was coming directly out of his mouth...and was taken as the words that he clearly spoke, not misinterpreted. There were too many of them for that! It just happens that he was talking in the middle of the lion's den.....talking to the lions. In other words playing it up for the Lobby big pac money audience.
So why would John Edwards all of a sudden "soften" his position on Iran? What changed? Could it be because he "heard" that the Democratic base didn't like what he had to say originally? Like starting back in June when he spoke to the APAIC gathering?
will John Edwards "adjust" his message for the sheeps, now that we all heard what he had to say originally?
News at 11!

4. Do you realize there are 26 candidates listed on that site? |
|
Good loord! If they all stay in, the debates are going to have to be 4 or 5 hours long, just to let each candidate answer a very few questions!
