Biden To Be Euthanized

ya had to know this was coming

Biden To Be Euthanized
Marty Kaplan

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/marty-kaplan/biden-to-be-euthanized_b_40172.html

Stumbling badly out of the gate, Sen Joe Biden (D-MBNA) will be put down, it has been learned. "We've tried everything," his trainer said. "Plugs, blogs, GaffEx, repunctuation, Jon Stewart -- nothing's worked. At this point, it's the humane thing to do." Spin doctors believe that the new injury proved intractable because it fractured the same joint weakened twice before, in the Kinnock Derby and the Hill-Thomas Stakes.

Representatives of all the cable news networks will be present when the lethal dose of sodium pentothal is administered. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the PAC of your choice.

2. This is distasteful - and Joe Biden is one of my least
Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 01:42 PM by karynnj
favorite Democrats to listen to. Had hillary said the same thing, it would have been smoothed over. Was her joke that Ghanhi was a gas station attendent less disrespectful to an ethnic group?

3. Heavens... we really have lost our sense of humor...
Marty Kaplan is a comedic, satirical political pundit....

Perhaps a deep breath is in order....

4. I do understand the humor
Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 02:33 PM by karynnj
my problem is that it makes light of the way the RW echo chamber has been used to discredit our leaders. Both Al Gore and John Kerry had reputations as very serious policy wonks, each was subjected to ridicule for faults they don't really have. Gore is not wooden, not a liar and does not exaggerate. Kerry is not an elitist, gaffe prone empty suit. Biden is not racist.

5. I'm not accusing Biden of being a racist, but he made a stupid comment that was deeply offensive
Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 03:25 PM by beaconess
to a significant portion of the Democratic base and he was called on it, as well he should have been. If the RW echo chamber is taking advantage of this situation, it's because of Biden's comments, not the legitimate reaction thereto. Next time, he needs to be a little more mindful of what comes out of his mouth.

edited: to change "No one is" to "I'm not"

7. I'm accusing him of being a racist, or at least really stupid
He was yucking it up about Delaware's former slave state status and his sympathy for the south during the Civil War with a group of southern voters less than six months ago.

George Allen's political career went into meltdown for barely more.

16. Hello? It underscores in satire the ridiculous OVERREACTION
to a single misstatement, a single episode of "foot in mouth disease" that is now the derigeur of our MSM and society... Don't give the person benefit of the doubt, don't let them explain, simply stoke maximal outrage and.... arrange for the (political) funeral. It is social satire.

Think about it...Marty is making YOUR points with humor, just as Jon Stewart, The Onion, and many other forums for social parody... Social satire is a timeless technique of social commentary, just as political cartoons have been.. Think Jonathan Swift and Mark Twain from the 19th century and the previously mentioned Stewart and COlbert from today....

10. No. It's just bad and in poor taste
You should also know Biden lost his 1st wife and 1 y.o. baby in a car wreck.
Comparing him to a horse who should be put down is just rank.

We need to send a loud message to these dark humor terrorist wannabes: stop horsing around! Do I need to whip out the gun to make you show empathy for this loser?!? :sarcasm:

:rofl::yoiks:

On edit: I have no guilt for there's nothing more "rank" than politics. But I'm sure there are many naysayers out there ready to whip me like a bad piece of meat. :P

15. Heavens, NYfrom MASS
The parody is every bit about the EXTREME OVERREACTION to Biden's momentary "foot in mouth" episode as any criticism of Biden... Bringing in his previous personal tragedies-- which all would empathize with, I'm sure-- well.... I'm sure you had a reason for doing so...?

Please don't ever read the ONION or watch Jon Stewart on the Daily Show....I fear for your sensibilities. Seriously....

14. Good god, people should all live in Hawaii for awhile - EVERYONE is fair game for jokes there...
EVERYONE is a "minority" in Hawaii - it's actually kind of freeing - no one has to hide or be embarrassed, because the next time it could be "me" in the hotseat...
