They are buying time for BUSH.
Pressured into giving the Murder-N-Cheif more time for his "plan" of troop escelation.
Resolutions (non-binding or not) set up a presidence and make a lot of NEWS, news the MSN can not ignore.
They want to hold up the news flow, hoping they can get good favorable results to sell to the American Public.

Two helicopters down in the last 2 days and 11 dead troops, not exactly a positive start!
Add to that the total crapping on "Iraq is a sovereign country" spin, by US troops raiding a government ministry and arresting a deputy minister and failing to inform the government of Iraq about it.
Things are just peachy keen, I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.
