My LTTE was published today

Our local conservative columnist, Debra Saunders, wrote a piece about the opposition to the San Francisco State University College Republican anti-terrorism rally. My LTTE about the column was published today.

For once I am in agreement with Debra Saunders about something. Her defense of the SFSU College Republicans stomping on the flags of Hamas, Hezbollah and an Allah banner is to be commended. Free speech is free speech no matter how idiotic and as Americans we have the right to protest views we find reprehensible.

I do quibble with the College Republicans approach to anti-terrorism, though. If these young patriots are so offended by terrorism, perhaps their outrage would be better served by a trip down to the local recruitment center where they can sign up to be a part of the real war. It would have much more of an impact than stomping on flags in the safe environment of their college campus.

Although I do feel very sorry for these young republicans. They can't get a job cleaning motel rooms or picking vegetables and apparently they can't get into the military either. Its just so sad, with all the energy these awesome god loving, patriots have. Is it a wonder how these young republicans turn to crime and become old republicans.

You keep writing them letters. You are my hero!
