* Has Got To Be The Luckiest Guy Ever.......... |
|
revelations at the Libby trial about the outing of Plame going to the highest of levels and learning that OSP in DOD provided contrived intelligence to help *CO lie us into this war in Iraq - now pushed even further behind in the MSM to the Anna Nicole Smith death and surrounding circus.
ANS death couldn't have been planned better to quash these more important stories that should be the Breaking News.
We knew they were lying to us when they were moving their lips in the run up to the war. Now we are finding out that it is a fact that they were lying to us - but the MSM is not reporting this story to the proportions that they should be.
I just don't understand why the American people and particularly the parents and loved ones of those killed and maimed in Iraq aren't just OUTRAGED.
What has happened to us that all of these revelations just roll off our backs?

1. You realize govt officials lying isn't considered new? |
|
Adults tend to have lived through Iran-Contra and even the Clinton stuff applies to a small degree; people expect lies about matters of state. It's not news anymore. It'd be news if anyone pays a price for lies, but people do not rationally expect it.

3. I got into it with a RW fundy coworker yesterday. Believe it or not, we got along for over 10 years. |

That changed with the Iraq invasion.
Anyway, it had been simmering for a while, and I finally had to take her aside, and try once more. She threw out every RW talking point, plus the fricking Bible and then finally said, "It's only 2 years, no 1 and 1/2 years until he's gone. Then the Democrats can fix it. Can't you just leave him alone, c'mon he's almost gone."
I was stunned. Bush has gone from fearless leader to helpless victim. BTW, she did not even attempt to defend Cheney and actually said she doesn't like him very much.
We ended on pretty good terms, but I can't get over how Bush is a blank palette for so many, on which they project their own hopes, fears and vulnerabilities. MKJ
edited to add: Lucky? He certainly has had luck in being able to connect with the most insecure and frightened members of our populace. They'll defend him to the end.

4. I was talking to my sister on the phone yesterday |

and she was telling me how her husband named their bird after Toby Keith.....how her husband just LOVES Toby. I told her I couldn't stand the guy because of how he went after the Dixie Chicks. She said: Oh no,they went after HIM first. I then told her Toby went after the Dixie Chicks because they went against his "precious president"......shit you would have thought I was blaspheming Jesus Christ!
Her voice took on a different tone,I could tell she was pissed. She said "oh yeah.....whatever".....then changed the subject real quick. I swear, these bu$h supporters are possessed by the devil. There is no other explanation for it. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

:wtf: How typically pathetic. Someone always has to clean up after little Georgie. Screw people who think like that. x( History will ensure that junior carry his legacy around in a colostomy bag.

That's the positive spin. Too often our political aim is so poor, anyone could escape unscathed. Just count all the pricks we "nailed" - and they've come back to life even stronger. Maybe we should stop waiting for M$M to do the work for us?!
And, too, consider this. The other side knows that their own crooked ways will always be found out. So, they swamp M$M with so much criminal shenanigans none of the claims can be investigated thoroughly before another goes above the fold. They take themselves off the burner time and again. M$M plays the same game they have always played ... if it bleeds, it leads, and other variations of the same. It's easy to blame the "Nicoles" of this world for our own failures to corral this gang of outlaws, and pointing fingers at oneself isn't proper, it seems. All that November success and wasted electoral collateral!
