No Surprise - Now ABC News Running with Obama Church Too Black Militant

<snip>

Obama's foreign policy proposals are just one target for his critics, who have many questions for the senator, including whether his church on the South Side of Chicago -- which preaches a message of black power -- is too militant to be accepted by mainstream America.

On edit this is apparently where it all started. Investors.com - anyone have the scoop on them?

http://www.investors.com/editorial/editorialcontent.asp?secid=1501&status=article&id=254362714252786

<snip>

Obama said he was drawn to Christ after college while working with black churches on inner-city projects. Soon he knelt "beneath the cross" at one of them, he said in a recent speech, and "embraced Christ." If he were Muslim, this act alone would be punishable by death.

Trouble is, Obama embraced more than Christ when he answered the altar call 20 years ago at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Southside Chicago. The 8,000-member church describes itself as "unashamedly black" and holds classes in "African-centered Bible study." He also pledged to honor something called the "Black Value System," which is a code of nonbiblical ethics written by blacks for blacks.

This is what should give American voters pause.

According to its Web site, Trinity puts the "black community" first. Black members are encouraged to pursue education and skills exclusively to advance their community, and allocate their money exclusively to support "black institutions" and black leaders.

In short, it preaches from the gospel of blackness and black power. There's little room for white Christians at Obama's church. It disavows the pursuit of "middleclassness" — code for whiteness — arguing that middleclassness is a conspiracy by white leaders to keep talented African-Americans "captives."

2. Funny how the media never ask whether the churches frequented
by white conservatives are "too militant to be accepted by mainstream America", no matter how valid a question it might be.:eyes:

15. Very true
Sometimes Obama is not black enough. With this article I guess they are saying he is not white enough. What is he? I guess they are covering both African Americans & Whites so that neither would want to vote for him. Now if this is the only junk they can come up with about him then they are really clutching at straws. Obama is going to take this election hands down. He is the cleanest candidate of the whole lot.

3. Sickening.
Obama is one of the few candidates who can be deeply religious and still not offend this atheist. It makes me want to :puke: to hear this type of crap..

5. The sad thing is
that the media influences the weaker-minded and the uninformed to some extent. There will undoubtedly be some folks who see that "news" clip and decide that Barack Obama must be stopped. I am doing what I can in my area to debunk the myths that are out there.

6. Obama really ought to refuse to give interviews to ABC.
In fact, all the Dems should. ABC is the right wings mouthpiece. I've no doubt about it. They are $$$connected$$$ with the GOP.

I don't think there is any way to stop ABC from airing hit pieces like this. But the Dems really ought to do whatever they can do to strike back in any way they can.

7. The problem is that if Obama boycotted every media outlet that's
in bed with the extreme right he'd be pretty much limited to Air America and the like.

11. Sad, but true.
And that's exactly why I don't watch any of them. I get my news here from LBN.

8. God, I hope Obama starts identifying himself as a member of the "human race".
So all this race based BS can end. Obama is no militant, its just absurd. It disgusts me to see his "race" being used this way.

9. /Investors' Business Daily/ is a very right-wing paper.
I'm not knocking you for posting it, but you can't expect them to like many Democrats at all. It's way worse than The Wall Street Journal in that it publishes almost NewsMax-style editorials, rather than the more intellectual conservative type-of stuff.

If you've got a ton of time, you can read huge thread on an investment message board about how they're getting sued:

They did article on 1/22. Guess since the crap about the madrassa went in the dumper the RW shills decided to pull this out. Tucker Carlson did this story last week, now ABC news (which is becoming another Faux) is running with it. Will Doocy on Faux and friends say "THIS IS HUGE!" this morning?

Is he too black or not black enough?

That's it?
