The Dems in "power" are too weak and scared of upsetting the
right because they think that by laying down they can get in
the white house in 08'. Fuck that, we need to stand up and
demand changes, answers, accountability, and justice. For too
long we have let this regime act without consequence and it
has changed the world into a place that no one is safe. We
need to start a revolution to re populate congress with some
people who have a spine and ideas, not just what the right
wants plus abortion and stem cells. The dem party seems to
fixate all their goals and ambitions on acheiving things that
wont take effect for another 20 years, or things that already
are. WE NEED NEW IDEAS. We are now living in a country run by
the most inept government in the world, it seems more like a
sitcom than a govenment. Its disgusting and making me sick of
America. I am 23 so this is all I know, I hear stories about a
time when politicians had dreams and goals and would stand
their ground. I guess I was just born 25 years too late to
hope for a promising America.

Webb, Tester (admittedly not tested, pardon the pun).... and I'm sure there are a few others.

And Clark has that whole *vision* thing in spades.

going to introduce. We need that. Murtha socks it to the republics, Webb does the same. Steny Hoyer sat ""Boner"" on his butt Sunday. There are a lot of dems who speak out but til Kunich introduces the Fairness Doctrine and they pass it you won't hear them.

27. Questioning the ability of our government is not bashing Dems.
Not pointing out where dems are bending over and becoming republicans but still saying their democrats is trashing democrats. Just accepting the current government as good and just, simply because we took the house and senate is insane. Most of the dems elected while on the correct side drop to their knees the second a corporation a a good ole boy knocks on the door. I used to think there was this great rift between dems and pukes, and I believe there is. But it isnt in the democrats in power. It is us, the real democrats, who stand up for the rights we deserve and call out a government who is being incompitent and lazy. We have to elect these Democans because that is the only way we have a chance. The far right has created too much fear in the dim wits of this country of free thought and liberals. Thats what I am, I dont want to be a democrat, I vote that way but I identify myself as a liberal. But I have hope, hope that one day the decaying old farts who have enjoyed their lifetime senate and house seats step aside, and let more progressive insightful people run this country. Until then I guess I will continue to support and vote for the good guys, no matter how similar they look to the pukes.

I agree with you 100%. After all, Joe "the Blow" Lieberman is a Democrat, and Zell Miller is a Democrat and Bud "The Dud" Cramer is a Democrat. This is just a start (or I hope it is) and maybe, just maybe, we can elect some better Democrats in the future (that is, if we have one)...

17. Robert F. Kennedy had I think eleven children with his wife Ethel.
Edited on Mon Feb-12-07 05:35 PM by Old Crusoe
While by no means an eye witness to RFK's physiology, I would nevertheless suggest that eleven kids is persuasive circumstantial evidence of his having balls.

It seems to me that RFK Jr has inherited them.

Some of you younguns never had the benefit of knowing Bella Abzug. If you wanted gumption and white-knuckled willfulness for several good causes toward the public good, Bella was your woman.

The organs of Republicans are the ones which appear to have atrophied.

I think our team's doin' just fine.

He takes on the Faux News flunkies (and wins!).
He is a Southern general who could, you know, actually flip a red state.
He is intelligent.
He is honest.
And, he knows what it's like to feed a family on less than $50,000 for most of his life.

P.S. And he's the only potential candidate who is sounding the alarm on the PNAC's plans for Iran.

20. I understand exactly what you mean. You are watching this fascist
government prepare for another war and damned few people in congress appear ready to address it. There are platitudes and Democrats making statements about the "threat" of Iran and no one seems to take the threat of our fascist government actually attacking Iran seriously. A third carrier group is on the way to the Gulf. Patriot missile batteries have been and are being installed in countries surrounding Iran. The Dictator is sending tens of thousands of additional troops into position next door to Iran. And our elected officials bluster and make parliamentary maneuvers concerning non-binding resolutions. And the gears of war continue to turn in Iran's direction. Yeah, I can understand the frustration. Feingold has a good proposal for withdrawal from Iraq, so does Kuncinich, but how many Democrats have stood up and signed on? We need to de-fund Bush's war machine and it must be done now. Will it? I doubt it. So, yeah, get pissed off with this bunch of time-servers, until they show us something to fight for, until they show us something to follow...

Corporations would never allow one, much less fund airtime for one's views. There's cash to be made, and we can't have any of this "share the wealth" stuff to get in the way of that, can we?

25. Totally understand your well placed frustration, but they are not weak and
scared, they are doing exactly what they are paid to do (not talking about government salary here), give us enough hope to not tear it all down, while making sure that nothing stands in the way of their agenda. Keep watching and follow "Deep Throat's" advice to follow the money, it is largely up to your generation as us old farts are too deeply inured to the status quo and fearful of losing what we think we have.

33. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kucinich, Gore, General Clark, Howard Dean, Pelosi...
Nancy Pelosi has turned Congress upside down , that can only benefit liberals in the future.

You are at that point in history -- when democracy will fail -- or it will not in the future. The DLC/Repukes want the democracy to fail, but the liberals Dems want a true democracy.

It is s slow process the DLC/Repukes (otherwise called Republican Democrats) got in under Ronald Reagan's anti-lib message and deregulation, and they are in the majority; but the liberal Democrats are the only ones that know how to win and govern, so that is why they run the DNC (Dean) and the new House, now we need the Senate -- and the presidency.

The Dem's could be prez in 2008 -- if they run Gore, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, or General Clark. The Dem's will win in 2008 the Senate again -- but will not really control the Senate until 2010 when more DLC/ Repukes are voted out or not voted in, and Liberal Dems get in.
