Is Rep. Murtha senile? Brit Hume thinks so.

Hume: Murtha Is Senile, Doesn’t Have ‘The Foggiest Awareness’ Of What’s Going On In The World

This morning on Fox News, Brit Hume launched a scathing diatribe against Rep. John Murtha’s (D-PA) character. “It’s time a few things be said about him,” Hume said. “This guy is long past the day when he had anything but the foggiest awareness of what the heck is going on in the world.” Hume called Murtha an “absolute fountain” of “naivete.” Watch it:

Murtha has long been the subject of smear attacks from the right. When he first came out in support of redeployment from Iraq in late 2005, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Murtha had “never been a big thinker,” and that he had “become too emotional” because he “goes to funerals.” The White House said it was “baffling that he is endorsing the policy positions of Michael Moore and the extreme liberal wing.”

Digg It!

Transcript:

HUME: That sound bite from John Murtha suggests that it’s time a few things be said about him. Even the “Washington Post” noted he didn’t seem particularly well informed about what’s going on over there, to say the least. Look, this man has tremendous cache among House Democrats, but he is not — this guy is long past the day when he had anything but the foggiest awareness of what the heck is going on in the world.

And that sound bite is naivete at large, and the man is an absolute fountain of such talk, and the fact that he has ascended to the position he has in the eyes of the Democrats in the House and perhaps Democrats around the country tells you a lot about how much they know or care about what’s really going on over there.

WILLIAMS: He’s chairman of the subcommittee, House Appropriations. He’ll have a lot to say about what Mara was just discussing –

HUME: A lot of it will be —

WILLIAMS: We’re in a democratic process. Not everybody is as smart as you are. He’s going to have a voice and a vote and I think lots of people identify with what he’s saying, which is let’s look at different alternatives rather than engage in what is a war that is just taking us down, down, down.

14. I never watch any kind of network news, it's such a nasty habit
To me it's worse than smoking and drinking and maybe even hard narcotics. The people who produce that shit are just so much trash needing to be thrown out.

The Revolution will not be Televised (but it's on youtube, see here)

2. Strange how he was a year ahead of everyone else ...

and had the guts to stand alone on the reality of the situation in Iraq. If he's senile ... what's that make those faux idjits?

3. And yet Hume would probably be thrilled to have Reagan
lead the country today. Fox News=Masters of Irony.

7. Murtha is so divisive...he should step down.
(sarcasm)--that has been said about other democrats who are constantly berated by the propaganda machine.

It will such a tough road for democrats with the media being nothing more than a mouth-piece for the republicans. I am so thankful for the internet, without it we would know only what Bush and his co-defendants want us to know.

10. Juan Williams and that Colmes guy are like "Sister Batrille's functioning at the Nunnery."
Edited on Sun Feb-18-07 03:23 PM by ShortnFiery
They haven't a clue about what's truly going on in the REAL WORLD, i.e., outside of the M$M's (co-opted with The Pentagon & Weapons' Contractors) "Flying out of their monkey butt's" Spin Machine. :eyes:

How's the above narrative for a whole lotta visuals? :P

9. Who can Brit Hume talk about? He doesn't seem all that lucid himself
So because someone doesn't support this insane war, they are senile? I think it's the other way around, anyone who still supports this war has mental problems.

11. Kill the Messenger--"Swiftboat" the Messenger
You would think Brit Hume would let underlings
do the dirty work instead putting himself
into the gutter. Respectable News Anchors
do not operate this way.

One could think MCCarthyism on the Rampage.

This makes me think Fox is really concerned
over what is happening to Republicans.

12. I'd think that calling Murtha "senile" is a pretty serious charge...
I would have to think that this must border on slander...perhaps a huge monetary settlement against Hume and FAUX would limit Hume's on-air medical diagnoses.

Remember how he looked right after the 2006 elections? I swear that sad, droopy hound dawg face got even sadder and droopier than ever... :nopity:

It's a wonder he didn't trip over that long chin of his and flip ass over teakettle into the cameras.
