Get Stupid

One of my favorite depictions of the Plame scandal is a take-off on "Get Smart" created by the people at toostupidtobepresident.com. They combine humorous animation with the kind of detailed facts that the corporate media has been regularly missing until just recently.

I also highly recommend "The Wrath of Condi", along with a general perusal of their excellent collection of short animations that combine the real truths suppressed by this administration with wicked satire.

I'm a regular albeit infrequent poster on DU. It's been a great resource for information in creating the animations on TooStupid. As you point out, the information in "Get Stupid" has been around for a long time, but the story was never covered as the scandal it really was. The animation was posted to the website on January 15, 2004. What if major media had had the temerity to investigate before the 2004 elections?!

Anyway, thanks. I haven't posted much lately. I'm glad people are still enjoying the site.

It's incredibly good, and it stands the test of time most amazingly.

I have a personal interest in the Keep Hopinmann clip.

I really want as many people as possible to see it and enjoy it, especially since history bears it all out so incredibly well.

Lots of little details hidden in the animations too. I just noticed the reference to Joseph Allbaugh in the grafitti tonight, and I've watched this a half dozen times.

the campaign enforcer gets a patronage position as head of FEMA, leaves to become a war profiteer after September 11 and passes the patronage job on to Brownie (his college roommate) in time for Katrina.

I have to ask if you happened to note the star date on "Wrath of Condi." That one was up by May of 2002 and we already knew about the August 6 PDB! I'm kind of proud of that, but I can't take credit for it. The truth has been out there all along, it only seems clever now because few were hearing it.

I have a lot of regrets about things I could have done better (animation is pretty tedious) and some of the animations are slowly paced because of my desire to get the details in, but again, I'm glad people are still watching them.
