Ending the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton dynasty is good for the country.

without reading Digby on this one. It's just a gut feeling, but I don't think any who have announced this early will be the nominee.

The reaction to the Obama-Hillary back and forth today is so amusing...
This is a blip on the political radar...if you think anyone but those in the netroots bubble are paying any attention to it you are deluding yourself...
Brother, you'd think this is the first Presidential election people have ever been through....
Sit back, open a beer and enjoy the show!!!

"Brother, you'd think this is the first Presidential election people have ever been through...."
I've been through too many of "let's see if we can cut each other's throat" campaigns. Most of this stuff used to happen in the background, off the media radar so to speak. Now that our Tabloid Media have helped to reduce campaigns to he said/she said beauty contests, it's all that's ever talked about. Actually, I'm glad Hills and Barack are taking the low road. It really shows their weakness as Progressive Champions, as Obama plays to the corporate donors and Clinton pushes her pro-war credentials.
Frankly, I'm thinking of having a t-shirt made up saying "No, Hillary - No, Barack - No, John - Sorry, Wes. I'm waiting for Al."
And the netroots largely represent the democratic activist/primary voter. You don't fuck with the netroots with impunity and hope to win in a primary. Ask Joe.

The story today is a pixel on a very large screen as to what will come down by this time next year...which will still be quite an interesting time, no matter who you support.
We political junkies will be able to name all the "greatest hits", but most voters don't even care...

I don't think this is gonna be another Dean/Gephhardt. The only candidate I can see really benefiting from the Clinton/Obama battle is Bill Richardson. But even so, with the earlier and earlier large primaries, and the increasing money factor, I think the frontrunners this time will actually remain so.

apart of a Gore candidacy, there is very little that can change the landscape of 08 elections. Republicans have 3 main choices: Rudy, McCain and Romney, and I predict McCain will be the first to go away.
Our side has more candidates, but still, unless Gore runs, this will be a 4 way race, with Clinton and Obama in the lead and Edwards and Richardson trying to gain ground. Edwards might be the surprise, and I don't think Richardson will not do much better than being the VP candidate.

Iowa voters chose the "electable" and experienced Kerry over Dean. I think that may happen again and see that despite the lack of media hype, Richardson's experience deserves recognition, especially as part of a statement against the "celebrity" nature of the race.. I can easily see a lot of Iowa voters hearing Richardson and coming away very impressed.. Nonetheless, this is gonna be a very interesting race.

and Richardson are very different. Kerry had the military background Bush didn't have and "looked" presidential. Richardson is a very eloquent man with a lot of experience, but he lacks the "looks" and the charisma.
It sounds extremely superficial, but that counts.
