Obama, Clinton rivalry flares over donor

Obama, Clinton rivalry flares over donor

By NEDRA PICKLER and BRENDAN RILEY, Associated Press Writers 46 minutes ago

Snip...

Campaigning in Iowa, Obama refused.

"It's not clear to me why I'd be apologizing for someone else's remark," the Illinois senator said.

For her part, New York Sen. Clinton sidestepped questions, leaving the issue to her aides to discuss.

"I'm just going to stay focused on my campaign and I'm going to run a positive campaign about the issues that affect the people in our country," she told The Associated Press in an interview in Nevada. She was participating a candidate forum in Carson City.

The Clinton team seemed eager to continue the attack. With Obama in Iowa, aides arranged for former Iowa attorney general Bonnie Campbell to criticize him in a conference call with reporters.

In the newspaper interview, Geffen also said Bill Clinton is "a reckless guy" and he does not think Hillary Clinton can bring the country together during a time of war, no matter how smart or ambitious she is.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs added another criticism of Clinton.

1. Good for them!
Let them outline their differences! The Hillary-Obama ticket will wind in a landslide.

Or you can go to the all white male GOP group who hasn't had an original thought in 50 years.

3. "We Democrats should sign a pledge that we all be positive" said Gov. Bill Richardson.
The only comment in the story that's worth repeating. Again, and again.

6. The flares would have been out by now had
the Clinton team responded directly to Geffen and Obama stayed above the fray. Obviously that's not the kind of campaign they want, and they're feeding the media.

So far there isn't much political astuteness being displayed.

10. You're proud that they're attacking each other?
Clinton's team misrepresenting Geffen's role, and Obama's using RW talking points?

12. Obama RW Talking points?
He is not using RW talking points. Obama is right the comment
Geffen made had nothing to do with him. The Clintons can not
deny they were friendly with him. If Geffen offered them
money to this day they will take it. However, they tried to
pull Obama into the mix. He stayed above the mix by stating
he has nothing to do with what Geffen says. Also, they tried
to infer Geffen is part of his campaign. Geffen has nothing
to do with the Obama campaign and it has been proven. Then
the Clintons goes to the media with the lie. The media proved
Geffen has nothing to do with the campaign. There it was a
lie. They have yet to apologize for their lie. How funny
you are trying to turn this on Obama. If they wanted someone
to apologize to Her. They should have approach their ex
friend (Geffen). He is the one that made the statement not
Obama. Oh I forgot Obama has control over how everyone
speaks in America and we no longer have Bill of Rights. Maybe
I need to go back to school and find out when we or Bush got
rid of them. I thought they still existed. However, you are
inferring that Obama can control of what all his donors say
now. That is pretty interesting.

Liconln Bedroom. Do you have proof Geffen did not stay in the
Licoln bedroom. Please provide or is this an assumption?
