Poll question: Would Nader voters support Kerry? Gore voters?
We all know DU polls don't represent the general population, but we may be a pretty good sample of the more left-leaning Democrats as well as Greens.

Assume that the Democratic nominee is Kerry and the Republican nominee is Bush. Also assume Nader is running again and maybe another Green Party candidate.

If you voted for _____ in 2000, will you vote for Kerry in November?

2. Wow.
People sure aren't as ready to beat Bush around here as they once were. A lot of negative responses.

3. Really makes you wonder.
Either they are political masochists, political virgins, or maybe they really do like this current administration.

What's really funny are the 2000 Gore voters who won't vote for Kerry. Rrrrrright.

4. Or maybe....
We just prefer a candidate who can actually BEAT Bush and didn't vote for 90% of his sickening agenda.

6. impermissible thinking
Anything other than uncritical support requires insulting the motives of dissenters.

Besides, haven't you been told that only by voting against your beliefs can we collectively return to thinking about maybe supporting some of your interests one day? Get with the program, dude!

and the nomination isn't decided. Many are still holding onto their primary dreams. Give them time.

depending upon how close the polls are in my state on November 1.

I can't vote in your poll.

14. My TWO reasons for not voting Kerry in November
1. He will most likely lose, and in the process has made
the party weaker.

2. Kerry represents status quo. You will need a microscope
to find meaningful changes from shrub policies. The repug
congress majority will see to that. We need someone with a
backbone like Dean or Clark to make meaningful change in
direction the country is heading.

17. Whew. Fascinating logic.
I won't vote for Kerry in November because I think he will lose. I never heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I won't vote for Kerry in November because he represents the status quo. I would prefer to shake up the status quo by letting the guy who created it get four more years in office. Kerry's too much like Bush - Bush is much less like Bush than Kerry is.

In November, I will vote for a candidate who isn't on the ballot, because that's how I can make a difference.

15. other
Voted Nader 2000...might vote Kerry 2004...if he has a real chance in my state, which Bush won by double digits 4 years ago.

If Bush gets re-"elected," we're screwed, period, wam bam thank you mam, not even a lousy kiss. If Kerry gets in, we'll get a kiss.

21. Thanks!
It's my first poll and a question that I had been thinking about for a while. I'm actually kind of surprised how it's going so far - I thought Bush would be pushing more people towards Kerry.

18. I'm a 2000 Nader supporter that would defintely vote for Kerry...
....if he is the nominee. He is just liberal enough (I like his ADA ratings) even though he has supported things in the past (NAFTA, welfare reform, the War in Iraq, the Patriot Act) that make me a little uncomfortable. I am still supporting Dennis Kucinich throughout the primaries.

23. Because I am ABB, NOT because I see Kerry and Nader
as being similar? (If that was the intent of the??)

For the most Nader-like candidate issue-wise, you need only to look to DK.
