I'd just like to say thank you to Wes Clark and his supporters |
|
I'm an official Kucinich voter - AZ primary Woohoo!- and a great admirer of all our candidates, however I would like to acknowledge General Clark since he just dropped out.
I never bought into the "Clark is a republican" or took much credence into his relationships with dubious neocons in the past. I always felt since Clark was in the military he couldn't avoid relationships with Conservatives and that being from Arkansas he naturally was registered as an Independent and developed Centrist views over the course of his life. None of that bothered me one bit, as I enjoyed Clark's message and became amazed at his ability to catch on to the campaign process. His learning curve is just something else!
General Clark, in my opinion, is definitely the intellectual of the bunch. Rhodes Scholar, speaks several languages, expert in military tactics and international relations. I became enamored with his intelligence and ideas, particularly I had fun reading his writings and speeches on his campaign website. Interesting man. I do plan on buying his books, as I have heard they are very challenging to read and comprehend and I like an intellectually stimulating challenge.
In short, Wes Clark is a good man and he helped stand up to the Republican lie machine, so I have nothing but good things to say about him. As for his supporters, I know you are all dedicated and believe in your guy, so good luck in continuing your movement. I'd like to see you all get behind your guy as he prepares for a possible VP run or as a member of the new Dem administration.

I called Wes Clark's campaign office this afternoon to ask the General to stay in the race. My appeal was taken by a campaign staffer; it was short and to the point "We need him, please ask him to reconsider." His withdrawing is a loss for Our Country and Democracy overall. I was leery of him at first, but, he won me over. He is a Man of high ideals and deep compassion. I cried when i heard his speech this afternoon.
To his supporters, you chose well and, you fought well too.
Thanks.

I am a Clark supporter. I am confident that he will play a significant role in the election. Perhaps an even greater one in the next administration: the democratic president will not pressure his Secretary of State not to lie. Oh, yeah, we can use our Generals wisely, too. The important thing is that none of us become discouraged, or loose sight of the goal. Unity! Victory! Democracy!

10. Thanks 4 putting in words what's in my gut. Wes stood up to the machine. |
|
He didn't mince words. He kept it real. Sometimes he stumbled a little but it was and he was... always real, even when he acting a bit contrived, a little choreopraphed, he was always real in his awkardness and most of all in his earnestness. I am glad he never got a real handler. I think win or lose, he and Gert came across as lovely and caring people.

12. That was a very gracious post. Thank you. But don't for one minute |
|
think that the General's going away. He's just reacting to the reality of the situation and planning a new strategy. That's what great general's do.
