Help me find this stastistic! |
|
Hello, I'm writing a paper for my first year political economics class, and my topic is the concept of a "fat tax", or a tax on calorie-dense, nutrient-poor foods. One argument made by people against this tax, is that the cost of healthy food is much higher than the cost of junk food, so as a result, the poor suffer. Does anybody know a place where I can find specific statistics relating to whether or not this is true? Thanks in advance.

I am sorry to not be more help. I just don't want to look it up myself. I put "fat tax" in google and got thousands of hits. From Wikipedia to Forbes. You can probably find the stats pretty easily.
