Meet the Press studios surely need a cleansing ceremony now.
I can smell the stench coming off of the disgraced, corrupt and criminalistic Tom DeLay and Richard Perle. The stunning thing about neoconservatives is their absolute lack of conscience and complete inability to feel shame, remorse or even embarrassment over their actions.

Chickenhawk DeLay swears he supports the troops, yet he sits next to a 31-yr career navy admiral (Rep. Sestak) and accuses him of not having the best interests of the troops at heart. DeLay laughs when former Rep. Andrew points out the troops did not have the proper gear going into the conflict and as a result thousands of them have died. DeLay literally did a little smirk-laugh when Andrews pointed that out.

Andrews also pointed out to Perle exactly what Perle had said to him in the lead up to Iraq (that essentially within a year Shrub would be much beloved in Iraq), and Perle tries to make Andrews look like a liar by saying Andrews mischaracterized the exchange, when the transcripts of Perle's comments in the lead-up to Iraq are all over the place and widely known! Perle spends the entire time responding with the same rhetoric from 2002 and 2004 that amounts to nothing more than insults and name-calling.

I was impressed though, with Rep. Sestak's extremely calm, yet forceful demeanor in taking DeLay apart point by point by point. There were moments when he looked like he was going to lose his breakfast in having to sit next to the scum that is DeLay, but no doubt his military training saw him through.

Andrews, one could tell, wanted to put out Perle's lights, and I was so glad he fought Perle's drivel with specifics of the dynamics happening in Iraq right now -- one of them being that our tax dollars are going towards having our military train embedded militia fighters who join the Iraq army then leave and put their training into use against our own troops. Perle doesn't have a clue what's going on because he could not reference one specific thing happening now.

(It was also great when Sestak brought up to Tom DeLay, when DeLay brought out that old tired talking point that debate over the war would de-moralize the troops, Sestak reminded him of the opposition, and impeachment efforts, the GOP put up against Bill Clinton during the Kosovo conflict. DeLay could only sputter.)

Break out ample sage and incense. Those studios need it.

11. That moment should be played over & over like the Dean "scream."
I think it symbolizes the real GOP attitude towards the military.

2. Thanks for the great synopsis!
I really appreciate it. I've never heard Srstak speak before, and I'm embarrassed to admit I don't even know who he is. But it sounds like he did a great job.:)

3. Why the hell is DeLay even allowed on any talk show?
The guy is an indicted criminal with NO credibility.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/28/AR2005092800270.html

The fact that he was telling Sestak military procedures and strategies was both vile and dusgusting as well as amusing in his arrogance. The "super" with his name said "Former..." with no mention that he was indicted and had to give up his post as leader.

Of course, no mention in the "super" on Richard Perle either that he was one of the founders of Project For A New American Century, who wanted to unilaterally invade Iraq as far back as 1993.

5. Delay should go back to fighting rats and cockroaches.
I couldn't believe it when he snickered over the lack of body armor.

6. cannot believe MTP would have DeLay and Perle on
where were the Senate GOP stalwarts to defend the Bush War, oh, they were too busy doing
damage control on the DOJ purge scandal. The fact that Mr. DeLay had to drop out of his
re-election campaign after he had won the primary due to fallout over his criminal indictments speaks volumes for his credibility as an expert on the war. And as for
Mr. Perle, what qualifies him as an expert on the Iraq War. When have the neocons
ever be right about anything. Name 1 single time that they have been right since
the war started.

7. Color me stunned that MTP would have them on also
complete lack of credibility and when they couldn't think of anything else to say fell back on the old and disproven talking points.

9. Andrews and Sestak were great.
Former Rep. Tom Andrews - D Maine and Rep. Joe Sestak - D Pa. made the tag-team of DeLay and Perle look pathetic. They did not allow interruptions or talking over them (both of the Pukes tried this.) Their case was clear, strong and well presented.

14. One comment by Andrews had me clapping vigorously this AM.
DeLaytook about5 mins to explain juust what should be done in Iraq, and Andrews looked at him and said "First, I will take the advise of the Admiral over that of Mr. Delay ANYTIME!!!!"

The camera got a shotof DeLay just then, and he looked like it was the first time anyone had ever "effectively" called him a idiot before.

Both the Dems did a great job up against the two Pub AH'S!
