So * may veto because the bill will have pork. That will be his out?? Hmmm. Let him. |
|
"So Mr. President, you would hold up FULL funding for the troops becaue there are provisions--pork or not--for wounded soldiers, peanut farmers and Christmas trees? It is clear that at the same time you short change our troops, you also hate America's farmers and have assaulted Christmas. How dare you, Mr. President! How dare you!"

3. Bush to veto bill because it wants to bring troops home |
|
I thought Bush wanted war to continue, forever. Gotta support the troops. Supporting the troops is more greedy profits for Halliburton/KBR/Blackwater.

4. Anyone who knows the master plan gets it |
|
Mr. President please allow me to answer the question for you since we are all too painfully aware of your linguistic inabilities.
The president hates Americas farmers because they support keeping things local which contradicts his own trade policy and because many small local farmers run their farms themselves without hiring cheap mexican labor. Further more it seems rather obvious that our president is most assuredly the anti-Christ so it only stands to reason that Mr. President would assault Christmas. Not to worry though. Soon there will be no more borders, no more local farmers and Christmas will inevitably become Feliz Navidad!

5. Ed Schultz Said The Dems Should Say To * - Yeah Mr. pResident.... |
|
we agree there is too much pork in this bill. Then they should take it out - but leave the troop withdrawal deadline in it - and Schultz said - * would still have to veto it. It is not the pork he is concerned with - it is the withdrawal deadline.

9. actually not a bad plan |
|
if they had delivered it 'clean' he'd have had to show his cards. Now they suckered him into picking a battle they can yield on. All those "pork" items can be tacked on to something else. Or sent up as standalone bills. Or dumped. Whatever. But send it back "clean" and watch him tapdance.

10. But the point is the pork has nothing to do with it anyway. All the money the prez |
|
asked for is in there--every dollar. To try to win favor by saying it has too much pork has nothing to do with the troops in Iraq.
But they could take out the pork and say that he can have his money with a timetable and pay for it all with a repeal of rich folks' tax cuts.

7. Pork is only permitted to go to Big Business |
|
or Republicans will go manic.
Remember that Medicare Bill. The Drug Companies were in the room during part of its development. The Drug Companies and Insurance Comanies made out like bandits. Tom DeLay held the vote open an inordinate(if not illegal) amount time while arms were twisted and knees broken. A congressman was threatened with the party seeing that his son lose an election. Many threats--no money from party in next election. 9 Dems got some great gifts for their district--Medical Centers for rural areas(Not cheap).
The above was routine.
The republicans gave sweetners to Dems to get their vote.--not just their own party.
Every bill they passed had some gift for Business.
The Dems provided in this bill for people in Hardship. Katrina, Farmers who have suffered Disaster.
GWB is probably upset because Business did not get a a big fat gift.

12. Isn't the pork mostly Republican? |
|
I think the pork is Republican proposed for the most part. Am I incorrect?
Did the Republicans add the pork so the president will have something else upon which to bemoan?

 There we are, the Republican double secret war on Christmas, it fits right in with their quite public war on the middle class.
