Political Operatives Forcing Democrats Off Ballots |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-04-07 08:20 AM by wyldwolf
The day after New Year's 1996, operatives for the DLC filed into a barren hearing room of the Board of Election Commissioners.
There they began the tedious process of challenging hundreds of signatures on the nominating petitions of a longtime progressive activist from the city's South Side. And they kept challenging petitions until every one of their four Democratic primary rivals was forced off the ballot.

This story isn't about the DLC, it's about someone doing what the DLC is always accused of doing. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-070403obama-ballot,1,4762574,print.story?ctrack=2&cset=trueBut I admire this trait in him.
