Nancy Pelosi is kicking their ARSE! |
|
This trip by Pelosi is much more than I had hoped for. The GOPers are up in arms. But no matter how much they protest, it underscores how lacking we are in leadership from the White House.
I honestly can't remember one thing she has said since she has been overseas. But who cares? Its about getting out there and talking to people. The public is getting an eyeful of real leadership. And Bush is looking worse and worse by the day.

7. Tony was already getting Assad to talk to Iran. |
|
But I don't mind good things happening a day after Bush chews Pelosi out for this trip.

12. True. Since Emperor Monkeynuts doesn't understand diplomacy it would |
|
be better left up to his superiors in this matter.

6. Dems cleaning up the messes again |

If this is how it worked out that Pelosi had something to do with the negotiations then the goostepping warmongers just got another slap to the face.

10. she's filling a vacant space in foreign affairs |
|
Our current Sec of State seems to be mainly a photo-op prop. I'm so glad she's taken the initiative. She is third in line for the presidency, after all. She's the American people's representative to the rest of the world.
I would love to vote for her for president someday.

13. There've been reports from the British press about mediation |
|
There's nothing saying, explicitly, that it was Assad who negotiated their release, but the Iranians were saying that negotiations were taking place "with the British," mostly to tweak Tony Blair's nose (since he'd insisted there'd be no "negotiations," it was hand over the men and the one woman, and be quick about it!) and to spin things to their benefit. Regardless, the Iranian president (yes, that jerk) finally made a surprise announcement about the "pardon" and the impending release.

2. Israel honored her with a State Dinner |
|
She gave a good speech and got a standing ovation, too! I hadn't seen any headlines about her being there and being honored...surprise, surprise. It was on CSPAN a couple of nights ago.
Heard on the radio just a bit ago that the delegation she's leading is actually 'bi-partisan'. There is one Con along on the trip with her (haven't heard who that is).

11. OK, I have to give credit where credit is due. |
|
I've been critical of Pelosi for being too Centrist and too slow to move but she absolutely kicked ass with this move. And what a co-ink-e-dink. The British soldiers just HAPPENED to be released during her visit. It's good to see Syria and Iran give a great big "Fuck You" to Dim Son and his Poodle.
