--- The DU features a lot of citizen activist advice centered around writing letters to editors,..letters to other media,.. letters to congressmen and senators, etc.,.. and this is definitely good advice. I only wish that literal tidal waves of letters were pouring down upon those with whom we have a quarrel or exception.
--- For those who DO use letter-writing as a means of informing, complaining or chastising,.. I'd like to recommend that you add an additional incentive to your letters by using the "cc:" convention to let them know that you were also copying in somebody else on your correspondence. Write to a legislator,... copy in the local newspaper. Write to a GOP senator,... copy in a democratic senator, if you have one. Write to a local Bush-supporting media outlet,... copy in a prominent and sympathetic local representative or minister. Suspected illegality going on? Copy in your state AG when you write your letter.
--- It's simply a means of trumping the secrecy to which the bad guys are so devoted.

1. Absolutely! And a suggestion on if you don't have a Dem Senator or Rep |
|
is to CC: Majority Leader Reid and/or Speaker of the House Pelosi
Even if your Senator(s) or Representative is a Con, CC to the Democratic Leaders adds strength because they can say "You're not serving your constituents. Look here!"
