My suggestion for a "Clean Bill"
The Dems should give Bush just enough money (say $25 billion) to fund the troops until August (that's the latest date the Cons are using as the date that the surge will either work or not work.) If (and when) it hasn't turned around by the time the money runs out we can bring 'em home post haste!!

2. I think the Dems should tell Bush very firmly when they meet with him next Tuesday,
that he is going to have to sign the bill as it is presented, because there will be no other bills funding Iraq forthcoming. If he vetoes it, the money runs out when it runs out, and the war is over.

Period.

Nancy and Harry should remind Bush that he works for US, and that we have made our feelings known. WE WANT THE WAR TO END. NOW. DO IT.

4. Yep
that's what they should do.

In fact, much to my surprise, I'm starting to think that's their plan. I don't see any action toward getting another bill moving.

3. When is the last time Congress passed a "clean" bill?
Aren't most of them pretty much loaded down with other stuff?
