CNN's Anderson Cooper: What about all the politicians who appear on Imus' show?
A "Keeping Them Honest" segment on his show tonight. Good for you, Anderson! By the way, General Motors and Sprint have discontinued advertising on Imus' show.

Wednesday's show

Don Imus has a track record when it comes to uttering racial slurs. Should his sponsors and even his guests be held accountable too? Anderson Cooper is keeping them honest. Tune in tonight at 10 p.m. ET.

2. Has Anderson ever concerned himself with lawmakers who support racist POLICIES
or environmental racism or racism written into our judicial process?

How about those white guys getting misdemeanors for all that expensive Peruvian flake while a black can get heavy jailtime for the same amount of crack?

Do some REAL journalism, Mr. Pretend to keep them honest.

14. You know, blm,
he was among the best re Katrina.

I'm not a big fan -- I think there's a lot he doesn't get, or gets wrong, or to which his enormous privilege blinds him no matter how hard he tries, but he really did a good job on Katrina.

But having said that, it makes me miss Aaron Brown all the more. I thought CNN was best served by having BOTH of them, instead of just Cooper.

15. he was sensitive on Katrina, but he rarely hits hard on serious issues
about BushInc in any effective way.

i've seen too many fluff pieces that step gingerly around obvious crimes of office that deserve a no holds barred reporting approach from ethical journalists. Not just Anderson but most of them deliver fluff. It's what keeps BushInc in business with full protection.

4. Anderson better not limit his segment to Imus.
Imus is the tip of the iceberg.

Cheney and Bush have appeared on Limbaugh's show.

It's good to see sponsors dropping Imus, but I hope they're holding other shows to the same standard. I'd be very disappointed to know that companies are dropping Imus but keeping blow holes like Limbaugh.

11. Nothing will ever happen to the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.
You can count on that one. Imus has been very outspoken against the war, Bush, Cheney, the troops, the veterans, autism, etc. What he said was horrible...no doubt. But it appears he is being ousted for more than what he said. Even NBC is crucifying him. Makes me wonder why him and not someone like Bill Bennett who said if we aborted more black babies, the crime rate would go down. I don't like Imus at all whatsoever. But something stinks here....If he gets fired, they should all be fired. If the other racists get away with this crap and we just single out one offender, it will not improve the racial tensions in this country.

13. Thanks..I thought I would be flamed
for even suspecting something fishy in the MSM regarding Imus. To me he is no different than most of the right wing radio/tv hosts. I also am uncomfortable with MSNBC firing someone now for something that has been going on for years. I just love free speech and I get nervous when there are any restrictions on anyone. If I don't like it then I turn it off. But someone out there may like it...I guess I just think different. I hate FAUX "news", but I think they should be free to be on the air. I just don't watch.

10. Yes. CNN reports a CBS board member also believe Imus has crossed a "very bright line."

CBS Exec Calls for Imus Firing

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Don Imus ran into more trouble Wednesday as a member of CBS Corp.'s board of directors said the radio talk-show host should be fired over his racially charged remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.

"As an African-American, I believe that Imus has crossed the line, a very bright line that divides our country," said Bruce Gordon, a CBS director and former president and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

"His remarks are so significant that I believe that the right outcome is for him to be terminated." (Gallery: Other controversial comments aired on Imus show)

But Gordon said he feels that the two-week suspension CBS Radio levied against Imus is the "right step" for now.

"It affords management the opportunity to do due diligence and evaluate what this means to the company, the brand and what it stands for," he said, speaking as a board member. "Once due diligence is completed, it is my belief that the facts should determine that he should be terminated."

Gordon's statements come as more big sponsors withdrew their ads from the airing of "Imus in the Morning" on MSNBC. The television cable channel also suspended Imus for two weeks after he referred to the Rutgers players as "nappy-headed hos."

General Motors Corp. and Sprint Nextel both announced Wednesday they were suspending their advertising.

19. Anybody watching Cooper tonight?
Just wondering how his Keeping Them Honest segment went and whether his outrage was limited to Imus.

Any updates from those watching would be appreciated...(my kids have taken over the t.v. so I can't watch).
