Vote for Dennis tonight on MoveOn.org
Reminder to Vote for Dennis tonight on MoveOn.org

Hello,

As many of you know, Move-On.org is holding a virtual town hall meeting tonight, 7:00pm Eastern, 6:00 Central, 8:00 Mountain, 7:00 Pacific. Afterwards, it is conducting a straw poll of all of the candidates. It is very important that you vote after watching the videos. Move-On has said it will endorse any candidate who receives higher than 50%. While this campaign does not rely on any endorsements but those of the American people, it is important that we show Move-On and the rest of the progressive community the American people support Dennis Kucinich.

As you will see again tonight, there is only one candidate who has consistently not supported this war and has a plan to withdraw troops immediately to end the occupation. Please watch the Move-On Virtual Town Hall Meeting and vote for Dennis on the straw poll afterward.

If you are not already registered, you can register to watch the town hall meeting at http://kucinich.us/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?q=555845&u=698
Please watch Dennis deliver his position on Iraq and his plan to end the war. `

Thank you for your support and your time.
The Kucinich Campaign

1. Wasn't this the other night or is this a new Town Hall?
I got this today:

Dear MoveOn member,

The votes are in, and Barack Obama is MoveOn members' top choice to lead the country out of Iraq, with John Edwards a close second (see results below).

At the Virtual Town Hall meeting Obama said, "The hard truth is there's no military solution...It's time to end this war." Edwards declared, "Congress...must not write George Bush another blank check without a timeline for withdrawal. Period."

Ensuring that Obama or Edwards—or another progressive—wins the presidency will be a huge fight, and we have to start today: We're launching Victory 2008, an ambitious drive to win the White House. We'll build strength in key neighborhoods, create cutting-edge tools for volunteers, and design the most sophisticated voter turnout effort progressives have ever run.

<snip>

Now, here are the full results from the Virtual Town Hall vote (remember, this does not imply a MoveOn endorsement):
Sen. Barack Obama 28% www.BarackObama.com
Sen. John Edwards 25% www.JohnEdwards.com
Rep. Dennis Kucinich 17% www.Kucinich.us
Gov. Bill Richardson 12% www.RichardsonForPresident.com
Sen. Hillary Clinton 11% www.HillaryClinton.com
Sen. Joe Biden 6% www.JoeBiden.com
Sen. Chris Dodd 1% www.ChrisDodd.com

3. MoveOn posted two sets of results:
One from those who watched the videos together at a Town Hall party.

Another including those who didn't watch at a party, but were allowed to vote the next day anyway.

The two sets of results are the same in regards to John Edwards, but very different otherwise.

.........................................

Now, here are the full results from the Virtual Town Hall vote (remember, this does not imply a MoveOn endorsement):

Sen. Barack Obama 28% www.BarackObama.com
Sen. John Edwards 25% www.JohnEdwards.com
Rep. Dennis Kucinich 17% www.Kucinich.us
Gov. Bill Richardson 12% www.RichardsonForPresident.com
Sen. Hillary Clinton 11% www.HillaryClinton.com
Sen. Joe Biden 6% www.JoeBiden.com
Sen. Chris Dodd 1% www.ChrisDodd.com

These candidates' views differed in quite a few areas, but they all rejected President Bush's plan and agreed that it's time to start bringing the troops home. Imagine what it would mean to have an anti-war candidate in the White House. Think about it.

<snip>

P.S. MoveOn members who watched the Town Hall at one of the parties voted differently from those who did not. Here are how the folks who attended the event ranked their choices:

Sen. John Edwards 25%
Gov. Bill Richardson 21%
Sen. Barack Obama 19%
Rep. Dennis Kucinich 15%
Sen. Joe Biden 10%
Sen. Hillary Clinton 7%
Sen. Chris Dodd 4%

5. I think it is relatively safe to say that a higher % of those who attended
the MoveOn Town Hall parties watched all of the candidates and a lower % of the people who did not convene to watch the videos together, actually did watch all of the videos.
