John Edwards must be "coloring his hair and Al Gore does sometimes and not others.....
and it's become AN ISSUE as to whether Campain money that folks send in for $5.00 and T10.00 increments should go to "Haircuts/Styles and Coloring, with Edwards SUPPOSEDLY/ALLEGEDLY Charging the fees to his Campaign (allegedly by RW BLOGS like DRUDGE and the rest of the pitiful hacks).

Let's say for sake of Argument that what Drudge and Rest say is TRUE? And let's say for sake of argument we agree that "Hair Color/Styling" amongst Repugs like DeLay and those NOW SERVING includes "Hair Pieces" i.e. "visible rugs on top of one's head" and coloring cutting and even those expensive "grey blending of mens' hair that Top Notch Salons can do these days" means that ALL Politician NEED TO LOOK THEIR BEST...just like their Female Counterparts.

STILL! Why is Bald, Semi-bald, Grey, slightly Grey and all Colors Inbetween WITHOUT ENHANCEMENT not a BADGE OF HONOR in our US HOUSE & SENATE?

Why do Honest Folk with HONEST LEGISLATION ...feel a NEED to PAY FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF HAIR STYLING?

Why can't we love a Man or Woman who steps out of shower with WHATEVER THE HELL THEIR HAIR COLOR or BODY IS FOR THEM...at THEIR POINT IN LIFE?

I know we ALL WANT TO LOOK GREAT...but should WE CHARGE IT TO OUR CAMPAIGNS? Is it like a UNIFORM COST TO DEDUCT ON TAX FORMS for us to GET HAIR CUTS AND COLOR AND STYLING?

Is it?

1. Oh, who cares?
I'm interested in what kind of president he'd be. Period. If he wants to dye his hair (Reagan did, too) or get a nose job or wear a girdle to look better, I don't give a damn.

How can one tell if hair is colored. I know of someone who is 60 with not a gray hair.

4. I've thought for a long time that we should be able to deduct that stuff
This is a hideously looks obsessed society we live in and it's a proven fact that "attractiveness" correlates to higher earnings. This is especially true for women, but men aren't exempt either. And having the officially endorsed natural features isn't enough. You need to be styled, personally trained, manicured, pedicured, exfoliated, and liposucted to be "competitive" in any industry where you face the public. It's a goddamned involuntary business expense IMHO.

A candidate's appearance has become more and more important as the visual media has taken over as the main source of information. FDR wouldn't have had a chance with his wheelchair. Lincoln's visage would have been deemed too scary for TV.

6. Maybe all declared candidates should be required to shave their heads
for the duration of the campaign, and not grow their hair back until after the election.

A level playing field and all that...

8. Same thing about hair, didn't it get Hume fired
Didn't Brit Hume , put out a story on Clinton similar to this, and wasn't he fired over the article, I can't remember but seems like he was fired. Same junk, don't push it on.
